But that’s a good thing, because if you are into tinkering, optimizing and upgrading, you will find a neat pre-cut body opening to hold additional waterproof storage or functional space irresistible. Mounting our lockable black fender box is as easy as it gets. It will take you under 5 minutes to unscrew the old cover and replace it with our locker by fastening it to the existing screw holes. If all you need is some exterior space for oily rags or gloves, that’s your job done right there. If you are feeling more ambitious, you might want to install electric sockets, pneumatic connectors or a kill-switch for your winch for instance. In that case, you will appreciate the fact that the floor of the box is loose to make these jobs that much easier. Hitch-mounted racks for bikes and other sports gear are fantastic, if you are using your bikes only off and on or once a year on your annual holiday trip. No cumbersome attachment to the roof rails or the trunk needed: simply lock it onto your car’s standard ball hitch when you need to and hey presto, off you go. Theoretically, that is, because for most 4x4 owners, the rear-mounted spare wheel will usually be in the way of a regular hitch-mounted bike rack. But that’s where Nakatanenga comes in.As an alternative to our lever operated quick-release adapter, we also provide an adapter that can be screwed onto the existing ball hitch. The extension you gain is the same as with the other adapter: 25 cm to the back. It will take a little bit longer to attach or detach the screw-on version, of course, but it has the big advantage that there’s no lever in the way if you have little space around your trailer hitch. You also don’t have to secure it with a padlock since there’s hardly any worry about theft en route. So, if the quick-release adaptor is not for you because you want to mount a smaller or permanent adapter, this screw-on solution is the one for you. Transport bikes safely with Dixon-Bate: the right adapter Whoever has tried to attach a bike rack to the hitch of their Defender knows this problem: the spare tire is in the way! This is where this adapter comes in. It attaches to the usual Dixon-Bate rail and thus moves the mounting spot about 30 cm further back, clearing most spare tires. Contents of shipment: Adapter for Dixon-Bate (30 cm) 1x Ball head for mounting the rack or tub 1x safety pin for the hitch hardware Two safety pins are required for the correct instalment of this adapter, one comes with the hitch itself and the other with this adapter. As always, we make sure our products are stored, handled and shipped with the utmost care. Aluminum boxes, however, can always show minimal scratches, dull spots, blemishes, small dents or other superficial marks on delivery. These are solely due to the specific properties of the material. On contact with atmospheric oxygen, aluminum develops a natural, anti-corrosion patina.  Three times lighter than steel, it is also considerably softer, making it the perfect material for metal sheets, especially when weight and durability are important. The flip side of these properties, though, means that aluminum can never be entirely free of scratches, blemishes etc. This is why these surface marks do not constitute grounds for customer complaints. Should you need your spare wheel re-installed for longer trips, removing the covers is a matter of minutes. Whether CargoBear, FrontRunner or other roof rack systems, fastening our practical, two-part mounting rails is a question of minutes. Each rail’s bottom is attached to the carrier and the top to the underside of the roof tent, thereby providing and easy to reach connection that is equally quick to fasten or loosen again. That way, you only drive your tent around when you're actually going camping. As a general rule, two rails will be sufficient for mounting most tents. However, for larger/longer hard-shell tents, for example, we recommend using three rails. This primer is intended solely for temporary corrosion protection during storage and transport and is not suitable as a permanent surface finish for exterior automotive use. It is essential to sand the component, apply a suitable primer, and then either paint or powder-coat it in order to ensure rust resistance. Optionally, we recommend treating the inside of the component with a suitable corrosion protection grease. Only this will reliably prevent corrosion from forming again inside the component over the long term.
