If you’re looking for seat covers for the New Defender – the front seats to be precise – look no further than our seat protectors made from durable, and easy-to-clean 1000D Nylon 6.6. The seat covers were developed by us in our own tailor's workshop – guaranteeing highest functionality and best workmanship. To ensure maximum comfort and compatibility with the climate technologies in your seats, the covers feature breathable mesh fabric on the actual sitting surface. And even though it is mesh, it will still protect the seat from dirt and moisture. To achieve a perfect fit, the one-piece cover is tightly tailored and does not require zippers or similar. Simply pull it over the seat, Velcro the top part underneath the headrest and close the sturdy straps and buckles on the underside. Additionally, a mesh pocket with a rubber foam piece inside is wedged into the gap between backrest and seat surface to prevent the cover from sliding. On the sides, openings in the cover allow easy access to the headrest controls. As with all our textile products, we always aim to add additional storage space. Generously sized MOLLE patches on the sides as well as large pockets in the rear of the backrest and the front rail of the seat make it very easy to store everyday items and small pieces of equipment temporarily or permanently. This article was designed in our in-house tailor shop. A dedicated team and short distances allow for continuous quality control and further development of our textile products. And if you already have a tailor's workshop in house, then it is easy to also accept customer change requests, special designs, suggestions and proposals for improvement at short notice and to implement them as far as possible. Mail or phone call is all it takes! And by the way: At Nakatanenga we only use materials with 100% nylon PU coating for all textile articles. Unlike PVC, nylon PU (polyurethane) is free of harmful phthalate-based plasticisers. Until recently, low-molecular phthalates were the most common plasticisers for plastics of all kinds and are even used in food and cosmetics. However, they accumulate in the environment and are suspected of acting like endogenous hormones due to their molecular nature. This is highly questionable from a toxicological point of view and is considered to be a trigger for various diseases, including cancer. For Nakatanenga, it is therefore a matter of course to use only ecologically and health-safe alternatives such as nylon PU for the coating of textile products.

This is where the impeccably modern cockpit by design director Gerry McGovern and colleagues pays homage to the interior of the classic Defender, the original Landy. Good for us, because we immediately spotted an opportunity to improve storage capabilities: with our nifty dashboard bag for the New Defender. The open dashboard shelf is where you put all the odds and ends in your car. It was like that in the old Landy, it will probably be the same in the new one. But once you’re testing the L663’s tilt angle or maximum gradient, our new dashboard bag, made from easy-to-clean, robust nylon, will keep your stuff from actually flying around. Installing the bag firmly in the dash takes only a few minutes. The zipper has two sliders so that the bag can be opened and shut from both sides. On the inside, mesh compartments and Velcro fleece allow for organized and secure storage of all kinds of items. The front features MOLLE fleece to attach patches and other little things. Since the New Landy sports a designer cockpit, we used transparent plastic material on top of the bag. Our mounting plates for the side handles on the dashboard of the New Defender are designed to support heavy duty mounts – like those from market leader RAM Mounts. Rods for raising the New Defender with air suspension, from model year 2020
Coupling rod/ Rods for height adjustment Installing lift kits for 4x4’s usually requires complex (and expensive) modifications. Not so if your vehicle comes with a self-regulating air suspension, like the New Defender. Raising the ride height of the New Landy by 1 or 1,6 inches takes very little in terms of effort or budget. The principle is very simple and has been employed with Discovery 5 and Range Rover Sport models for quite some time. Simply replace the original rods on all four wheel suspensions with our replacements. The new rod’s different dimensions will trick the self-regulating suspension to permanently lift the ride by 1” or 1,6”, respectively, in all drive modes. Once the new lift rods are installed, the vehicle’s sensor system will adjust itself automatically to the new ride height after the first restarting of your car. Resetting the ride to original factory settings is just as easy and only a question of minutes. We produce these 1“ and 1,6“ lift rods for the New Defender in our own workshop. The rods are laser machined from extremely robust high-quality plastics and the bushings are created in an additive process. This makes both components highly resistant to degradation by weather or chemicals, like fuel, oils etc. The custom-designed bushings are flexible and extend to both sides of the rods’ connections. In terms of quality, this is a far superior solution over many other products on the market, specifically aluminum rods with cheap off-the-shelf cable grommets. Available as +1“ or + 1,6“. Additional Interior Light for Land Rover NEW DEFENDER The new Defender is being marketed as a true workhorse, but – as always – there’s room for improvement when it comes to the practicalities of working with your L663 on a day-to-day basis. One such aspect is definitely the lighting for the load space in the back. The standard set-up is somewhat sparse but most of all it lacks proper roof lights. This is especially problematic since the cargo area is often filled up or modified by installed racks, boxes and the like. Our LED light bar solves this problem with more than sufficient 396 Lumens light intensity. The lightbar is easily installed on the trim above the cargo door and illuminates the entire load space – helping you to quickly find tools and equipment and ensuring safe working conditions day or night. Mounting the roughly 36 cm long and 2 cm wide LED lightbar is really easy. Simply click the two fastening clips into the edge of the upper door trim. The clips’ custom-shape will hold the lightbar firmly in position. Connecting the device to the Defender’s wiring is just as quick by simply pushing the LED bar’s wire behind the trim and pulling it along the D-pillar towards the standard lamp housing by the fuse box. In most cases, you won’t even have to remove the trim panels. Lastly, the LED bar’s connector is simply plugged into the standard lamp’s socket. This is rarely noticeable when driving, because you usually don't even get into the corresponding speed ranges. However, there is one aspect where the Defender's rustic box shape very quickly reveals annoying disadvantages and that is the almost rectangular and fairly vertical windows. Even when 4x4s generally wear their scars with pride, most signs of heavy usage aren’t necessary, they’re frustrating and also depreciate the value of your vehicle. One of the first areas to show signs of wear and tear – especially with off-road vehicles – is usually the cargo area. But if your 4x4 is a New Defender, would you really want to see a worn and scratched rear bumper? Immediate and long-lasting prevention of wear marks on your New Defender’s rear bumper can be achieved with our designated paint protection film. This high-performance product by industry leader 3M protects your New Defender’s rear bumper from scratches and abrasion even when your loading area is constantly in use for work or sports. And don’t forget the damage a dog’s claws can do to the paint when you carry them regularly in a dog box in the back. Due to its multi-layer structure, the 3M wrap also protects the bumper from chipping caused by the impact of small stones or dropped objects. Installing the paint protection film is really easy. Everything you need is included: cleaning cloth, adhesion promoter wipe, squeegee and detailed instructions. If you’ve never done this before: don’t worry. The protective wrap can be positioned exactly as you need it, but if you have to readjust the position a few millimeters that’s no problem either. Simply slide the film into place. It only starts to adhere once you apply pressure with the squeegee. The protective wrap is available in black, matt black, anthracite grey or silver, making it a perfect visual match for any New Defender color scheme. Comes in one complete „no worries“ kit: foil, squeegee, cleaner, primer. Please note: The transparent version differs from the other versions in terms of price and workmanship, as it uses a specially developed, UV-stabilised film. This film is specifically designed to minimise material yellowing caused by UV radiation and ensure long-term visual stability. The transparent film MUST be applied wet! For professional application, we provide detailed installation instructions and the necessary processing materials. Instructions for wet application: Fill a spray bottle with water and 1–2 drops of washing-up liquid (or mounting/application solution). Remove coarse dirt from the loading sill with a damp cloth and then clean thoroughly with the enclosed cleaning cloth – the surface must be clean and dust-free. Spray the loading sill evenly. Remove the protective film from the film and also spray the adhesive side lightly (so that it does not stick immediately). Apply the film and align it carefully. The moisture allows it to be moved around. Squeegee out the water, working from the centre outwards. Apply even pressure to remove the water and air bubbles. Remove any excess liquid with a cloth. The film is fixed after squeegeeing, but only reaches its final adhesion after 24–48 hours. During this time: Do not wash, do not use a high-pressure cleaner. Keep as dry as possible and avoid mechanical stress.

Practical and Exterior Storage on the New Defender
Even though the new Defender offers generous space inside, there’s kit that’s better stored outside. For this the Side Storage Box for the New Defender provides a suitable solution. It mounts on the passenger side in place of the ladder and creates extra space for tools, recovery gear or anything that needs to be quickly handed outside.
The plastic box with around 24 litres of capacity attaches directly to the bodywork and factory roof rails, or to the CargoBear Roof Rack, if fitted. Inside, a cargo net keeps things organised and secure during transport. The box is lockable, splash-proof and well thought-out down to the details: a drain plug in the base makes cleaning easy.

The CargoBear was already a real eye-catcher on the old Defender. For the New Defender we’ve further developed it. The reversing camera is perfectly integrated, and the CargoBear can be mounted at two heights. At 100 millimetres the panoramic roof is still usable; at 80 millimetres the rack sits closer to the roof. A great option for those who might still want to fit into a garage or car park. By the way, the CargoBear Roof Rack - like most of our own products - is Made in Germany.

Winch, Skid Protection and Snorkel for the Defender from MY 2020
The New Defender is built for off-road. But for real off-road missions even more is called for. That means a winch, and when the track gets rocky, protection underneath. With the Terrafirma Winch Mounting Kit, various winch models can be installed.

The CargoBear itself weighs around 50 kilograms, leaving roughly 100 to 110 kilograms for roof tent, boxes and gear. When stationary, more is possible - up to 300 kilograms. That’s enough for a roof tent with two adults and luggage.
- Can the snorkel be retrofitted to the Defender L663?
Yes, a Snorkel can easily be retrofitted to the New Defender. It relocates the intake to roof height, protecting the engine when wading through deep water. A second benefit shows in dust: on gravel and desert tracks, tyres kick up dense clouds close to the ground. With the raised intake, the engine draws in cleaner air, preserving the air filter and maintaining performance. In everyday driving, the snorkel stays discreet; off-road it becomes essential equipment in remote regions.
- Will the New Defender with roof rack still fit in a car park?
Whether a New Defender from 2020 with roof rack still fits into a car park or garage depends on several factors: tyre size, any suspension lift and whether there’s a panoramic roof.
