This is where this adapter comes in. It attaches to the usual Dixon-Bate rail and thus moves the mounting spot about 30 cm further back, clearing most spare tires. Nakatanenga screwable adapter for bicycle carrier for ball head coupling
Hitch-mounted racks for bikes and other sports gear are fantastic, if you are using your bikes only off and on or once a year on your annual holiday trip. No cumbersome attachment to the roof rails or the trunk needed: simply lock it onto your car’s standard ball hitch when you need to and hey presto, off you go. Theoretically, that is, because for most 4x4 owners, the rear-mounted spare wheel will usually be in the way of a regular hitch-mounted bike rack. But that’s where Nakatanenga comes in.As an alternative to our lever operated quick-release adapter, we also provide an adapter that can be screwed onto the existing ball hitch. The extension you gain is the same as with the other adapter: 25 cm to the back. It will take a little bit longer to attach or detach the screw-on version, of course, but it has the big advantage that there’s no lever in the way if you have little space around your trailer hitch. You also don’t have to secure it with a padlock since there’s hardly any worry about theft en route. So, if the quick-release adaptor is not for you because you want to mount a smaller or permanent adapter, this screw-on solution is the one for you. With a maximum load of 120 kg, the hitch-mounted adapter is ideal for standard bike racks, cargo carriers, tubs, baskets etc. Please check the individual road safety regulations and legal requirements for your country when mounting the adapter. When it counts: 2.5 litre stainless steel compressed air tank for travel & off-road use An air pressure tank with 2.5L capacity, but only 77 mm in diameter, for all the difficult mounting spots. Stackable and completely manufactured from stainless steel, this tank is pressure checked and available by itself and as a bundle. When you're out on an adventure there is never a gasstation when you need one, especially when you desperately need petrol or air. But since you won't get around airing down on rough trails or in the desert sand, you will need a compressor either way. A compressor is certainly the easyest way to handle this frequent change in tirepressure, depending on the terrain, but a compressor always needs an air pressure tank, which is always either too small or when appropriate too big to be mounted anywhere efficiently. This problem can now be solved by this tank, because with a diameter of only 77 mm this tank can be squeezed in various different spots all around the car. Thanks to this the stackability of the tank allows you to easyly reach a capacity that enables the use of air pressure tools. While welding the tank it's impinged with forming gas to make the tank completely corrosion free and the pressure test guatantees incredible longevity. As a source for the pressurized air we recomend one of the highly sought after VIAIR compressors. Beware: none of the necessary hoses are come with the tank since the hose-lenght varies depending on the desired mounting point. Firewood, muddy slings, wet clothes or tarpaulins, garbage, game loot and much more are stored outside on the spare tire, on the tailgate or on the roll bar. This ensures that the interior of the car and the rest of the equipment are guaranteed to remain clean. If the additional storage space is no longer needed, the spare tire backpack is quickly cleaned, folded and packed away. The 80 l backpack developed according to US MIL-SPEC is attached non-slip with two straps. It is freely expandable by double-sided MOLLE, e.g. with our first aid kit. Trivia is best kept in the zip pocket on top and meshes at the bottom allow water and dirt to drain off quickly.
