This is where the impeccably modern cockpit by design director Gerry McGovern and colleagues pays homage to the interior of the classic Defender, the original Landy. Good for us, because we immediately spotted an opportunity to improve storage capabilities: with our nifty dashboard bag for the New Defender. The open dashboard shelf is where you put all the odds and ends in your car. It was like that in the old Landy, it will probably be the same in the new one. But once you’re testing the L663’s tilt angle or maximum gradient, our new dashboard bag, made from easy-to-clean, robust nylon, will keep your stuff from actually flying around. Installing the bag firmly in the dash takes only a few minutes. The zipper has two sliders so that the bag can be opened and shut from both sides. On the inside, mesh compartments and Velcro fleece allow for organized and secure storage of all kinds of items. The front features MOLLE fleece to attach patches and other little things. Since the New Landy sports a designer cockpit, we used transparent plastic material on top of the bag. This allows for the ambient LEDs in the dashboard and the day light from the opening above to filter through into the bag’s interior. Nakatanenga Winch Bumper 2 for Land Rover Defender The new Nakatanenga NAWIBU2 winch bumper is equally suitable for Land Rover Defender 90/110/130 with or without air conditioning. It fits all model years and engine types, such as Td4, Td5, Tdi, Tdci, Puma, 2.5, 2.4 and 2.2. Locally manufactured for us, the winch bumper is powder-coated black and protects the front of the vehicle even during tough off-road use. The two integrated, swivelling recovery eyes are ideally suited for self and external recovery - or for attaching an optional pulley, which doubles the pulling force of the winch or makes difficult recoveries possible in the first place. The design of the winch bumper allows for easy registration by means of a fee-based individual approval. One of the main innovations of the NAWIBU2 bumper compared to its predecessor is the optional possibility to mount two 70mm driving lamps in a recessed position - this way they are optimally protected against damage in the terrain. We use LED driving lights from Nolden, which provide excellent light with low power consumption. They have an E-mark and can therefore be used without registration. In order to harmonise with any existing Nolden Bi-LED main headlights, the auxiliary driving lamps are available in black or chrome-coloured optics. If you order the bumper without headlights, the openings for headlights are not present. Depending on the vehicle version and winch type, it may be necessary to adapt the radiator grille. We all know the rubber cords used on bike racks to carry stuff. Rusty hooks, worn by sunlight and rain, dangerous handling and not really up to the job anyway - definitely unsuited for tie-down of cargo in a 4x4. Nakatanenga CargoBear for Ineos Grenadier The launch of the Ineos Grenadier was without a doubt the biggest event for the off-road community since the launch of the new Defender. And since the two are more or less officially competing for the title of best successor to the old Landy, it's a pretty exciting affair. When it comes to the shape of the roof, the new Ineos is hardly distinguishable from the old Defender, including the slope at the front, the side gutters and the mighty roof load of 150 kg (dynamic load) and 420 kg (static). All of that makes it a joy to fit the Grenadier with our CargoBear modular roof rack. The legendary CargoBear is just as ambitious and versatile as the British newcomer with its Bavarian-Austrian technology and old-school look. The CargoBear for the Grenadier (Station Wagon/Utility Wagon) can be ordered in four variations – but thanks to our modular system, subsequent conversions or add-ons are easily done, whenever your specific requirements change. In the simplest, open version, the roof rack consists of three crossbars, a wind deflector at the front and the end carrier at the rear. For closed and therefore fully accessible platforms, the Bear is available in three further versions: As a short roof rack with three crossbars, two closed sections between the bars, a wind deflector and end panel. Winch rope 10 mm x 30 m Steel or synthetics? With winch ropes that is often something of a religious question. However, the trend is now quite clearly to high-performance synthetic fibers, the steel in the ratio strength to weight are often superior and otherwise bring in handling many benefits. The advantages of our 30 m synthetic rope compared to steel are manifold, but above all there are two main arguments: safety and weight. When steel cables break, heavy, sharp-edged metal lashes through the air uncontrollably, causing damage and the worst possible injuries. Should our new 2.3 kg light rope really reach the 9.5 t breaking load once, the ends will simply fall to the ground. Even when handling the steel cable, cuts caused by loose or broken wires are not uncommon, but excluded in synthetics. In addition, the much lighter Dyneem rope not only relieves the operator, the car also benefits in terms of statics and driving characteristics. Synthetic ropes are low maintenance, washable, easy to roll up and down due to low friction, and are less sensitive to UV, chemical and oil products, abrasion and fatigue due to kinking than many other synthetic fibers. They absorb hardly any water and are extremely flexible with a low length elasticity of around 5%. The high-quality workmanship of our synthetic rope is shown in detail:To accommodate the pull hook in the eye splice, the 12mm thimble is made of stainless steel, as well as the 7 mm eyelet for attachment to the winch. Additional protection against frictional heat and abrasion is provided by polyester protective sleeves on both ends of the rope. So that nothing rubs off or splices at the splices, they are hot-shrink-sealed. The Nakatanenga winch rope is available in gray or orange. Unlike PVC, nylon PU (polyurethane) is free from harmful phthalate-based plasticisers. Solar panel for bonnet Next generation solar cells are increasingly integrated into structural components. Instead of separate, awkwardly mounted modules on the roof of a house, for example, the roof tiles themselves function as solar panels. Our PV modules for the hoods of 4x4s and vans follow this principle. While they do not yet replace the hood, they are so thin (only 3 mm) and so flexible that they precisely fit the shape of the hood – making them hard to recognize as an extra add-on. In addition, they are also extremely aerodynamic and robust enough to even step on them if needed. The hood modules for Defenders Td5 and Td4, New Defender, Jimny 2, Mercedes G-Class and Sprinter have an output of between 75 and 90 W at 12 V, depending on the model. Your only requirement is sufficient sunlight to generate enough power for the primary and secondary batteries in the car during the day. This in turn enables you to reliably operate all the devices needed in a camper or expedition vehicle: navigation and communication devices, laptop, cooking equipment, refrigerator and much more. Your equipment always remains fully functional and a sufficient charge of the starter battery is also guaranteed. Mounting the PV module and wiring it up to the batteries in the vehicle are equally easy DIY jobs. The included adhesive tape is all you need to attach the panel to the hood while the intelligent charge controller and the adapter allow for plug & play electric installation. The rock slider for the Jimny GJ and HJ Tight-fitting rock slider made of aluminum with steel holding structure. To increase the rigidity of the slider panel, "dimple the" beads are pressed into the front. Replaces the original plastic sill protection. The steel holding structure is replaced by pressing in threaded rivets in the sill (attention, drilling out the existing holes from 8.5 mm to 9 mm necessary). On the underside, the retaining structure is held in position by clamping the sill rebate. The slider panel can be replaced separately if damaged, provided the substructure has not been damaged Sill fold protected.
