POWERslave for Td5 Discovery and Defender Heavy clutches with high pedal weight are a known phenomenon especially in Td5 Defenders (1998-2006) but also in many Td5 Discovery models (1998-2004). But there’s a simple and cost-effective solution for anyone experiencing problems with the heavy pedal. Installing a POWERslave slave cylinder will reduce the pedal weight by up to 30% in comparison to the original set-up. Please note: the POWERslave cylinder lowers the biting point of the clutch. On Defenders, the biting point can be adjusted in the pedal box. On Discovery 2 models, where the pedal box is not adjustable, we recommend installing the slave cylinder only after the clutch is worn in after a few thousand miles. LOF does not recommend the installation: for newly installed clutches in combination with the LOF Power master cylinder

This is seldom noticeable when driving, because you don't usually reach the corresponding speed ranges. However, there is one aspect where the Defender's rustic box shape very quickly reveals annoying disadvantages and that is the almost rectangular and fairly vertical windows.
