THE ALL NEW EXTREMEspec MT82 output shaft kit from LOF On Defenders with 2.4 and 2.2 Tdci Puma engines, it is a very common fault that the coupling shaft between the MT82 gearbox and the Lt230 transfer box wears out and fails! This is due to the shaft’s original two-part design with a dry splined coupling. Without grease, the grinding of metal on metal wears down the spines and eventually you’ll notice first a clunking noise and ultimately a total loss of drive. Solutions with specially greased OEM parts were unable to fix the problem, so the specialists at LOF have come up with a solid one-piece design for the coupling shaft to replace the splined coupling. LOF is so convinced by this EXTREMEspec innovation, that they offer a lifelong warranty on the component. Differential lock mounting kit for the Land Rover Defender - Precise retrofitting made easy To facilitate the installation of the standard differential locks (Detroit Truetrac / Detroit Locker / KAM Locker) in the Rover and P38 axles of the Defender, we have put together an installation kit which contains all the necessary materials. It is NOT suitable for the Salisbury axle! If you don't feel up to the job, please have a specialised garage do the fitting as otherwise expensive damage to both locker and axle might ensue. After re-filling the diffs there will remain a rest of about 1/2 liter. This can be used for topping up the axles at a later time or to top up the LT230 transmission gearbox.

Repair kit shift linkage / transfer case
The transfer box on a Defender not only transmits the power from the engine two both axles, it also houses the middle diff lock as well as the reduction gearbox. The linkage connecting the transfer box to the low ratio/diff lock stick is naturally prone to heavy wear and tear. The repair kits give you the option to completely replace all worn bushes, bolts and the hexagon screw in the linkage. Nut, washers and SL retaining clips for the bolts are all included.
