Nakatanenga spare tire backpack If you are occasionally "out at home", be it offroading, survival adventures or expeditions, you know the feeling when dust, dirt and moisture slowly but surely penetrate into the innermost areas: into the sleeping bag, in the spare linen, in the food, in the tool. There, where you just want to have it dry and clean, because otherwise it quickly starts to gnaw on morality. The rule of thumb is therefore, no matter whether backpack, tent or 4x4: dirty things stay together, well packed and especially OUTSIDE. Our Nakatanenga spare tire backpack with about 80 l volume realizes this principle for your 4x4. Firewood, muddy slings, wet clothes or tarpaulins, garbage, game loot and much more are stored outside on the spare tire, on the tailgate or on the roll bar. This ensures that the interior of the car and the rest of the equipment are guaranteed to remain clean. If the additional storage space is no longer needed, the spare tire backpack is quickly cleaned, folded and packed away. The 80 l backpack developed according to US MIL-SPEC is attached non-slip with two straps. It is freely expandable by double-sided MOLLE, e.g. with our first aid kit. Trivia is best kept in the zip pocket on top and meshes at the bottom allow water and dirt to drain off quickly. The bag is made of sturdy polyamide 6.6 and is internally PU-coated, odorless and without plasticizer. The spare tire backpack is ideal extra storage space with a large footprint. Kinetic mountain rope KERR If you are frequently recovering off-road vehicles stuck in mud, dirt or sand, kinetic recovery ropes are the ultimate solution. The decisive advantage these elastic synthetic ropes have over more rigid traditional straps or plastic ropes is their ability to store kinetic energy from the towing vehicle. This stored energy can build in the elastic rope and is then transferred continuously and smoothly to the trapped vehicle. Primarily, there are two positive effects when recovering cars or 4x4s with kinetic ropes. The rope’s elasticity compensates for sudden load peaks when the towing vehicle inadvertently jerks forward or transfers sudden jolts of force to the rope. This in turn means that the breaking strength of the rope won’t be tested as quickly and damages to vehicles or equipment are prevented. The second effect is that lighter vehicles can recover heavier ones, because the kinetic energy transferred from the towing vehicle can build in the rope until the resisting force is neutralized. The rope will stretch by an additional 30 to 35 %. The easiest method on both the rope and the vehicle recovery points is a slow and steady build-up of momentum until the rope snaps back and frees the trapped vehicle. Our rope allows for a safe temperature range from -70 to 99°C, which is highly superior to conventional ropes. Urethane-polymer coating makes our KINTO ropes highly water-, UV and abrasion-resistant. From a safety point of view, we would like to mention, though, that workload and breaking strength can be greatly reduced in damaged or overextended ropes. Taking good care of your rope is therefore highly recommended. The perfectly fitting and extremely robust wind deflectors from ClimAir Off-road vehicles are not designed for aerodynamically perfect airflow. So far, so obvious and normally it doesn’t matter anyway because in a 4x4 you’re unlikely to reach the speeds where it becomes problematic. But there is one aspect where the rustic box shape of Jimny 2 does show the effects of aerodynamic neglect and that’s the nearly rectangular shape and the straight and vertical positioning of the windows. Your classic Jimny windows for instance are misting up because the ventilation famously isn’t up to the job of defogging them. And that’s when you see the effect we’ve talked about in the beginning. The drag around the cracked windows is not only loud, it also pulls more dust and water inwards and that’s pretty annoying, even for hardcore off-roaders. Wind deflectors by ClimAir for Jimny 2, offer the perfect solution. Side locker for Land Rover Defender, stainless steel, black powder-coated on the back left
Side Lockers Externally accessible storage space is standard in Land Rover emergency or service vehicles. And for good reasons. Firstly, unused hollow spaces within the body offer additional stowage and secondly, items that shouldn’t be stored inside the car due to access, hygiene or health reasons can be kept separately. Especially when the vehicle has been modified into a camper van or the load space has to be kept clean for humans and animals, it is a good idea to keep certain items in exterior storage. This includes oily tools, wet and dirty clothes or smelly and chemically hazardous items like jerry can spout, funnels or fuel-soaked rags. Camping fans particularly like to store gas cookers, cartridges and cooking accessories in the side locker. Using the lid as a table, your morning coffee tastes best besides your vehicle. We have completely overhauled the side locker and managed to improve some of the key features significantly. So, if you haven’t cut a hole in the rear left of your Defender yet (or had it done for you*), it’s now time to do so. And if you already have our old side locker installed, you can easily upgrade to the new version. Dimensions and mounting holes are fully compatible so that the upgrade can be installed in no time. What’s new? The box is now welded all around and the construction has been designed to meet the requirements of IP67. This has greatly improved the stainless steel locker’s robustness and waterproofing. We also added a new compression key lock with IP66 certification. The lock’s clamp can be adjusted so that the lid will stay permanently tight and rattle-free. The lid’s hinges are mounted at the bottom and it is held at a 90° angle by small chains on either side, forming a small tray or table. The side locker is custom-made for Defender 110s. The five door station wagon will take the storage box behind the rear left wheel arch, the three door hard top alternatively offers installation in front of the wheel arch. Alternatively, this middle position in the hard top Landy can also take our bigger locker with even more stowage space. The new side storage locker can also be installed in all other camper vans and expedition vehicles which offer suitable space in the body.
