Kinetic recovery rope KERR, 8m long If you are frequently recovering off-road vehicles stuck in mud, dirt or sand, kinetic recovery ropes are the ultimate solution. The decisive advantage these elastic synthetic ropes have over more rigid traditional straps or plastic ropes is their ability to store kinetic energy from the towing vehicle. This stored energy can build in the elastic rope and is then transferred continuously and smoothly to the trapped vehicle. Primarily, there are two positive effects when recovering cars or 4x4s with kinetic ropes. The rope’s elasticity compensates for sudden load peaks when the towing vehicle inadvertently jerks forward or transfers sudden jolts of force to the rope. This in turn means that the breaking strength of the rope won’t be tested as quickly and damages to vehicles or equipment are prevented. The second effect is that lighter vehicles can recover heavier ones, because the kinetic energy transferred from the towing vehicle can build in the rope until the resisting force is neutralized. The rope will stretch by an additional 30 to 35 %. The easiest method on both the rope and the vehicle recovery points is a slow and steady build-up of momentum until the rope snaps back and frees the trapped vehicle. Our rope allows for a safe temperature range from -70 to 99°C, which is highly superior to conventional ropes. Urethane-polymer coating makes our orange KINTO ropes highly water-, UV and abrasion-resistant. From a safety point of view, we would like to mention, though, that workload and breaking strength can be greatly reduced in damaged or overextended ropes. Taking good care of your rope is therefore highly recommended. Universal storage space set for the spare wheel The high school of storage space optimization really only begins when all the obvious places like the interior or trunk or the roof have long since ceased to offer anything. With our practical and universally applicable spare wheel tray, even the fifth wheel on the car becomes an equipment carrier. The practical storage solution for the spare wheel at the rear consists of two components that can be ordered individually (here in the store) or as a set. The base carrier with the tensioning strap is adjustable and thus fits all common off-road tire sizes. If one mounts only the basic carrier (sideways), so e.g. starting aids, wheel chocks and other accessories can be screwed to the carrier or attached with straps. If you want to mount the tray, i.e. the basket, the base carrier must be on top of the wheel. The loading area of the storage basket is a generous 80cm x 38cm, so that even larger equipment can find its place here. If this area is not enough, you can also turn the platform around and attach with the edge down. Raised edges and circumferential lashing holes ensure problem-free load security. Base carrier and storage basket are black powder-coated, so that the look of the spare wheel tray harmonizes perfectly with any off-roader. Base carrier: approx. Mud Stuff are now presenting their Cubby Box Tray, a simple but efficient tray insert with two compartments. The Cubby Box Tray will fit any original Land Rover Cubby Box by simply inserting it right below the lid. The tray is held in place on the rim of the cubby box by an 8 mm lip. A dedicated recess for your hand makes it just as easy to remove it again. The insert separates the Cubby Box into two practical tiers: the tray on top holds important everyday items, everything else goes below. The tray’s two individual compartments measure 200 x 105 mm and their depth of 55 mm ensures sufficient space for all essentials like smartphone, keys, wallet, parking tokens, defrosting spray or chocolate bars. Soft touch layers on the bottom of the compartments make sure that nothing gets scratched. The Cubby Box Tray’s dimensions and recesses are designed for Land Rover originals. Our Nakatanenga spare tire backpack with about 47 l volume realizes this principle for your 4x4. Firewood, muddy slings, wet clothes or tarpaulins, garbage, game loot and much more are stored outside on the spare tire, on the tailgate or on the roll bar. Nakatanenga screwable adapter for bicycle carrier for ball head coupling
Hitch-mounted racks for bikes and other sports gear are fantastic, if you are using your bikes only off and on or once a year on your annual holiday trip. No cumbersome attachment to the roof rails or the trunk needed: simply lock it onto your car’s standard ball hitch when you need to and hey presto, off you go. Theoretically, that is, because for most 4x4 owners, the rear-mounted spare wheel will usually be in the way of a regular hitch-mounted bike rack. But that’s where Nakatanenga comes in.As an alternative to our lever operated quick-release adapter, we also provide an adapter that can be screwed onto the existing ball hitch. The extension you gain is the same as with the other adapter: 25 cm to the back. It will take a little bit longer to attach or detach the screw-on version, of course, but it has the big advantage that there’s no lever in the way if you have little space around your trailer hitch. You also don’t have to secure it with a padlock since there’s hardly any worry about theft en route. So, if the quick-release adaptor is not for you because you want to mount a smaller or permanent adapter, this screw-on solution is the one for you. With a maximum load of 120 kg, the hitch-mounted adapter is ideal for standard bike racks, cargo carriers, tubs, baskets etc. Please check the individual road safety regulations and legal requirements for your country when mounting the adapter. Whether you’re going for a more muscular look or just better off-road performance, there are many good reasons to widen your Defender’s stance. You can go for fat MT tires or you can widen the track with wheel spacers or negative offset rims to achieve the desired effect. But keep in mind that your wheel covers may no longer be sufficient for your country’s road regulations and that in turn could affect your 4x4’s road legality. Apart from costly surprises in traffic stops, you also want to avoid potentially dangerous water and mud spray or debris being catapulted from exposed wheels. And then there’s also that slightly unbalanced look… At Nakatanenga, we thought there’s got to be a better solution than what’s out there and that’s why we teamed up with the experts at TREKFINDER to give you a functional, easily attached and exclusive solution to extend your existing original wheel arch guards. The result is a discrete self-adhesive rubber extension strip that widens the original Land Rover wheel arch guard by another 20 mm, simply by sticking it onto the original part. There’s no need to remove the original parts, drill new screw holes etc. The new guard’s protruding adhesive lip fits perfectly onto the original part and makes it very easy to position the 1.5 m extension perfectly. This should also work with identical after-market parts by Britpart et al, but with non-original parts we are unable to provide a warranty, of course. With a little experience and some planning, though, you can easily adjust the strips’ required length or their radius with a boxcutter and some sanding paper. Again, alterations are not covered by our product warranties. And last but not least, since our wheel arch extensions are self-adhesive, they are just as easily removed as they are mounted.
