TREKFINDER Fuel filler cap cover for Land Rover Defender The recessed fuel tank cavity is a typical Defender detail, dating back to very different times. Today’s average drivers would probably shake their heads in disapproval, but Landy enthusiasts will cherish the excentricity and immediately set their minds to fixing the design’s obvious short-comings with a little Defender hack. For a long time, we had been able to offer one of those nifty little fixes under the product name Defendoor, made by a Czech company.Sadly, both the company and their fabulous product are no longer in existence, but since we still register a lot of demand for fueling cavity covers, we got together with Defender specialists TREKFINDER and breathed new life into the idea.The cover is as simple as it is effective when it comes to keeping out water, snow, ice, salt, spray, mud and dust. It will also add to the rugged good looks of your Defender. Made from sturdy but slightly flexible high-quality synthetics, it is kept in position by a groove running around the sides. There is no need for screws or rivets or moving parts to hold it securely in place. When fueling, simply press the cover in and remove it from the fueling cavity. The material is UV- and temperature-resistant, guaranteeing long product life and long-lasting quality. U-POL RAPTOR - The robust protective coating that also looks good! In contrast to other coatings, the RAPTOR multipurpose coating / painting does not need to be heated. It can simply be sprayed on and then hardens. For a mixture of 1 liter 50ml of paint are required - 1 liter covers an area of approx. 4.2m² - for processing we recommend the standard RAPTOR spray gun, the RAPTOR spray gun with adjustable spray nozzle for better texture adaptation or our roll-on -Set (application via paint roller). To prepare the substrate, we recommend the MIPA Etch primer, the MIPA 1K adhesion promoter, the U-POL universal primer spray, the U-POL etch primer and the 1K plastic adhesion promoter. This high-performance product by industry leader 3M protects your New Defender’s rear bumper from scratches and abrasion even when your loading area is constantly in use for work or sports. And don’t forget the damage a dog’s claws can do to the paint when you carry them regularly in a dog box in the back. Due to its multi-layer structure, the 3M wrap also protects the bumper from chipping caused by the impact of small stones or dropped objects. Installing the paint protection film is really easy. Everything you need is included: cleaning cloth, adhesion promoter wipe, squeegee and detailed instructions. If you’ve never done this before: don’t worry. The protective wrap can be positioned exactly as you need it, but if you have to readjust the position a few millimeters that’s no problem either. Simply slide the film into place. It only starts to adhere once you apply pressure with the squeegee. The protective wrap is available in black, matt black, anthracite grey or silver, making it a perfect visual match for any New Defender color scheme. For vehicles up to MY 2006 the protection plates include the antenna, for later models, the plates are shorther. Please submit RAL colour when ordering special finish in comment box. Please note that shipping might take slightly longer.Please note: the protective covers for Defender form MY 2007 er slightly shorter than for previous models, they do not reach up to the antenna mounting as production tolerances are too great.
