Coupling rod/ Rods for height adjustment Installing lift kits for 4x4’s usually requires complex (and expensive) modifications. Not so if your vehicle comes with a self-regulating air suspension, like the New Defender. Raising the ride height of the New Landy by 1 or 1,6 inches takes very little in terms of effort or budget. The principle is very simple and has been employed with Discovery 5 and Range Rover Sport models for quite some time. Simply replace the original rods on all four wheel suspensions with our replacements. The new rod’s different dimensions will trick the self-regulating suspension to permanently lift the ride by 1” or 1,6”, respectively, in all drive modes. Once the new lift rods are installed, the vehicle’s sensor system will adjust itself automatically to the new ride height after the first restarting of your car. Resetting the ride to original factory settings is just as easy and only a question of minutes. We produce these 1“ and 1,6“ lift rods for the New Defender in our own workshop. The rods are laser machined from extremely robust high-quality plastics and the bushings are created in an additive process. This makes both components highly resistant to degradation by weather or chemicals, like fuel, oils etc. The custom-designed bushings are flexible and extend to both sides of the rods’ connections. In terms of quality, this is a far superior solution over many other products on the market, specifically aluminum rods with cheap off-the-shelf cable grommets. Available as +1“ or + 1,6“. With a cargo giant like the new Defender 110 (from MY2020), this will inevitably lead to chaos. That's why we’re putting a bear in the cargo area, a small CargoBear. This additional shelf with its generous dimensions of about 860 x 525 mm takes a load of about 50 kg and is intended for heavier equipment, tools etc. As with the CargoBear roof rack, the cargo shelf is made of robust, powder-coated and perforated aluminum. Raised edges, anti-slip surface and a variety of lashing points make it very easy to ensure one hundred percent load security. By the way, the angled design of the supports leaves approx. 640 mm of loading height under the CargoBear rack. This means that even larger items such as boxes etc. can still be stowed without a problem. When mounting the shelf, all you need to do is fastening it to the existing attachement points of the trunk cover with the original screws. Installing a POWERslave slave cylinder will reduce the pedal weight by up to 30% in comparison to the original set-up. Please note: the POWERslave cylinder lowers the biting point of the clutch. On Defenders, the biting point can be adjusted in the pedal box. On Discovery 2 models, where the pedal box is not adjustable, we recommend installing the slave cylinder only after the clutch is worn in after a few thousand miles. ATB Torsen differential lock - Defender 90/110/130 front axle and Defender 90 rear axle
Differentials are among the most important and heavily used mechanical parts and can make a huge difference in performance, especially once you leave the asphalt behind. This much is undisputed, but then the first question usually is whether you need proper lockers on the axles or at least limited slip diffs? Our answer: Unless you’re regularly punishing your Landy in heavy terrain and prefer it climbing over driving, a locker probably makes little sense for you. In ambitious everyday use, retro-fitting a Limited Slip Differential (LSD) like the Ashcroft ATB or the TrueTrac by Eaton will make a huge difference, though. For most drivers most of the time, limited slip diffs will be the best choice on-road, with varying surface and weather conditions, as well as off-road. But first some basics: in contrast to real lockers, which lock up your axle either electronically or pneumatically, LSDs work in the background all the time and not only if you switch them on. Moreover, there is no need for external input. They neutralize the torque differential on one axle gradually or in increments, whereas a real locker has only two states: either completely off or on. This in turn means that the LSD supports the driver continuously and unnoticeably on loose or slippery surfaces and can even beat lockers in certain tricky situations. Every seasoned off-roader will know this one: the vehicle is tilted sideways on slippery ground and the lower rear wheel with most of the load on a locked axle will pull the back of the vehicle violently sideways and downhill when you step on the gas pedal. Moreover, the enormous forces working on locked axles usually require re-enforcements to the drive train, if you want to avoid costly damages in such situations. The Ashcroft ATB LSD, available for Rover front axles (Defender 90/110/130) and rear (90) as well as for the P38 axle on 110/130, is of a Torsen Type 2 design, similar to the Eaton Truetrac, but with a slight difference. The engineers at Ashcroft are employing 6 instead of 3 pairs of helical gears parallel to the axle. The differential creates the necessary friction for torque compensation by pressing these helical gears to the sides of their pockets. Now, if you’re thinking metal on metal, there’s got to be loads of wear on these gears, you need not worry. Both the Ashcroft as well as the Eaton are designed to compensate for the wear and will be among the most long-lived movable parts in the car. One drawback inherent in this particular design is the fact that at least one wheel per axle has to have a load on it for the diff to engage. Pre-load springs on the Ashcroft minimize the effect. If you have both wheels spinning, simply engaging brakes and throttle simultaneously will initialize the torque compensation again. In cars with traction control, this effect is achieved electronically, by the way. The ATB LSD otherwise supports the traction control by multiplying its effects. Because of these characteristics inherent in the design a vehicle fitted with Ashcroft ATBs should never be brake-tested on rollers. The Ascroft ATB is reliable, quiet, supports traction control if fitted, needs little maintenance and improves both the driving characteristics and the power transmission, depending on your setup. It fits Rover and P38 axles (including fittings). ATB Torsen differential lock Salisbury is only suitable for Salisbury rear axles. For Salisbury axles, the Detroit Truetrac from Eaton is also recommended as an alternative.

HBC Dual battery monitor The dual battery monitor is ideal for monitoring 2 separate batteries (starter and consumer battery). Available with matching plugs and wiring harness for LAND ROVER DEFENDER with 12 V dual battery system as a surface-mounted or built-in version. Nakatanenga has the exclusive distribution rights for the dual battery monitor in Europe. The digital technology used in these monitors makes it possible to accurately reproduce the non-linear characteristics of lead-acid batteries. Using the green button in the centre, you can switch the information output on the display from one battery to the next. The dual battery monitor emits an audible alarm/tone as soon as the battery is either overcharged (14.8 V and above) or over-discharged (12.2 V and below). The dual battery monitor has been specially developed to be combined with the Cyrix-ct intelligent automatic cut-off relay. Link function: If you press and hold the green button on the dual battery monitor for 10 seconds, both batteries are forcibly switched in parallel for a few minutes, which is particularly useful when operating a winch or when the starter battery is too low (only possible in combination with the Cyrix-ct cut-off relay). Suspension Bushing Set (without shock absorber) for Land Rover Defender TDI, TD4 and TD5
Replace in good time to prevent damage to the fixed components! Bushes are by and large the first components in the chassis suspension that degrade due to ageing generally or mechanical, thermal and chemical exposure specifically. If they don’t get replaced in time, the first warning signs you’ll experience are rattling or clanking noises, deterioration of handling and impaired road safety. Ultimately, critical damages to the solid components can occur, from radius arms to shock absorbers. This applies specifically to vehicles like Defenders, operating under heavy duty conditions both off- and on-roads and particularly when towing trailers. Our complete OEM replacement kits include bushes for the entire suspension (except for shock absorbers) for Defenders Tdi, Td5 or Td4. As a general rule, in order to maintain handling integrity and prevent imbalances in the suspension system, it is highly recommended to replace the entire kit once severe wear and tear occurred.
