Nakatanenga CargoBear 2.0 – The Lightweight and High-Performance Roof Rack When it comes to powerful performance, our very own CargoBear is definitely the Grizzly among roof racks. Strong, sturdy and massively versatile, it was way ahead of its time when we introduced it in 2016. But the world is turning, evolution doesn’t favor a standstill and if you want to survive in nature, you need to keep innovating. Leaner and meaner is this new bear, the CargoBear 2.0, when he emerges from his winter den in Berg. Same load bearing strength, same solidity, same rigidity, but greatly reduced fight weight: Your 4x4 has to carry around 30 % less weight on the roof. And on top of it, the new CargoBear comes with a reduced price tag as well. How did we do it? The crucial difference lies in a new construction design. Removing the comparatively heavy longitudinal connecting beams, their structural function has been taken over by newly developed perforated HIGRIP plates between the crossbars and angled end-plates for the sides. The new design achieves (nearly) the same structural strength as its predecessor but reduces the net weight considerably.  The CargoBear 2.0 has been designed for a load capacity of 300 kg off-road (with evenly distributed load). This can easily be doubled on the road. Theoretically, that is, because it’s important to make two points when it comes to roof racks. One, keep in mind that your vehicle’s centre of gravity can shift upwards considerably when carrying a roof rack with cargo, especially off-road. And two, when loading your roof rack, the limitations will most likely result from your vehicles approved roof load which in most cases will be significantly below the specifications of the rack itself. Some of the CargoBear 2.0’s features stay the same, however, because we found them hard to improve: this includes the jet-black, super-flat look, the high-performance material and the modular versatility. Robust rock slider design made of aluminium The front plate is reinforced with ‘dimple die’ beading. The steps can be unscrewed or replaced if necessary. If the footboards are not used, the holes in the Rockslider can be sealed with the screws supplied.   The connection to the vehicle is made using the existing threaded inserts on the underside of the body. The Rockslider is bolted to the bodywork with 6 M10 bolts.   Our Rockslider has been issued with a parts certificate by TÜV Süd. Retrofit kit electric windows for Land Rover Defender  Electric windows were first introduced in the Defender when the Td5 was overhauled in 2002. All doors and door trims were adapted at that point, so that from MY2002 onwards, even models with manual crank handles in the rear seat doors can be retrofitted with electric openers. The complete electric window opener kit makes swapping or retrofitting dead easy. The assembly kit contains the lifting mechanism, electric wiring, fastening materials, covers and the switches for both rear seat doors.

Side Lockers Externally accessible storage space is standard in Land Rover emergency or service vehicles. And for good reasons. Firstly, unused hollow spaces within the body offer additional stowage and secondly, items that shouldn’t be stored inside the car due to access, hygiene or health reasons can be kept separately. Especially when the vehicle has been modified into a camper van or the load space has to be kept clean for humans and animals, it is a good idea to keep certain items in exterior storage. This includes oily tools, wet and dirty clothes or smelly and chemically hazardous items like jerry can spout, funnels or fuel-soaked rags. Camping fans particularly like to store gas cookers, cartridges and cooking accessories in the side locker. Using the lid as a table, your morning coffee tastes best besides your vehicle. We have completely overhauled the side locker and managed to improve some of the key features significantly. So, if you haven’t cut a hole in the rear left of your Defender yet (or had it done for you*), it’s now time to do so. And if you already have our old side locker installed, you can easily upgrade to the new version. Dimensions and mounting holes are fully compatible so that the upgrade can be installed in no time. What’s new? The box is now welded all around and the construction has been designed to meet the requirements of IP67. This has greatly improved the stainless steel locker’s robustness and waterproofing. We also added a new compression key lock with IP66 certification. The lock’s clamp can be adjusted so that the lid will stay permanently tight and rattle-free. The lid’s hinges are mounted at the bottom and it is held at a 90° angle by small chains on either side, forming a small tray or table. The side locker is custom-made for Defender 110s. The five door station wagon will take the storage box behind the rear left wheel arch, the three door hard top alternatively offers installation in front of the wheel arch. Alternatively, this middle position in the hard top Landy can also take our bigger locker with even more stowage space. The new side storage locker can also be installed in all other camper vans and expedition vehicles which offer suitable space in the body. If your Landy is not just a Chelsea tractor and regularly has to tow more than one kind of trailer, the odds are you will need an adjustable tow hitch. The first advantage over a static solution, of course, is the fact that you can adjust the height very easily just by moving slider and pin. Secondly, and more conveniently, you can also permanently mount several different tow systems to a number of slider plates. That means switching coupling types like tow ball, jaw or NATO is literally a matter of seconds. Pull the pin out, switch the slider plate, push the pin back in. Done. No screws, no nuts or bolts to fasten. The adjustable tow hitch is available for TD5/TD4 90, 110 and 110/130 high capacity pickup and comes as a complete assembly kit with the necessary chassis struts, the bracket for the rear cross member, mounts for electrics, slider frame, slider plate with tow ball, a choice of 7- or 13-pin electric coupling and all necessary fastening materials. High-altitude kit as standard - ready for any adventure Whether in Nepal or the Andes: The Air 2D is equipped with an altitude kit that automatically adjusts the combustion to the change in air pressure. This means it runs reliably even at high altitudes. Nevertheless important: At very high altitudes, the amount of oxygen decreases - and with it the maximum output of the heater. As a rule of thumb: from an altitude of approx. 2000 m, the heater loses approx. 5 % output per 500 meters of altitude. And: the higher the altitude, the more sensitive the heater is to resistance in the air flow. Therefore, especially for operation at high altitudes, use the shortest and simplest possible air ducting and above all avoid angles and kinks! You can also simply remove the pipework completely for this time. Maintenance: Don't forget to burn off Like any diesel engine, a diesel parking heater needs to reach a certain temperature from time to time to get rid of deposits. Therefore, when you leave the mountains, let it run at full load for an hour. The same applies if it is permanently operated at a low level. Double DIN panel for Land Rover Defender Instead of installing many individual devices in the vehicle's cockpit, it often makes sense to install a single, central device - this saves space, labour, wiring and reduces the risk of theft. Modern multimedia devices now combine a variety of functions such as navigation, hands-free system, rear view camera and vehicle diagnostics and can also play a variety of media - in addition to the classic analogue AM/FM radio reception, digital radio DAB is becoming more and more widespread, DVDs can be played in addition to CDs, MP3 files from USB sticks or hard drives can be played and iPhones or iPods can be controlled. WLan access points and the integration of Internet services such as Facebook can also be realised. In the Defender TD4 (from 2007), there is no space for this ex works. The double DIN installation kit offered here creates this space by relocating the switches to the sloping area between the centre console and the steering wheel, facing the driver. Furthermore, it provides space for the installation of any 52mm round instrument - e.g. an exhaust gas temperature or outside temperature display. This installation space can also be closed off by means of a dummy plug supplied. The panel is available in matt or glossy finish. Nakatanenga CargoBear cross bars  There’s only one real alternative for the full CargoBear roof rack: the CargoBear cross bars on their own! If you don’t need the entire cargo platform on your New Defender, because you carry only long work equipment or sports gear like surfboards, skis or kayaks, the cross bars alone will do the job perfectly. The same applies for roof tent campers. For the new 110 Landy this means that the standard setup consists of 3 cross beams for the entire length of the roof. Choosing the higher level will ensure that your roof window retains its full functionality. The crossbars feature a very wear and tear resistant matte black RAL 9005 powder-coating. A great number of recessed lashing slots allow you to attach lashing rings, brackets, hooks, stud fittings etc. You can also attach your lashing straps directly, of course. With their compact size and a heater output of 1.8 kW, the Planar 2D is well-suited for fitting to smaller vehicles, vans, off-roaders, camper vans, boats or in confined spaces. Roughly one can say: From 2.000 meters the loss of power per 500 m height is approx. 5%. Manufacturer tests up to 3.440 m were no problem. No difficulties are to be expected up to 4.000 m. The software itself calculates up to 5.000 m - however, this has not yet been tested in real height. The separately available control unit with timer (optional extra) features a larger OLED display and more intuitive operation. The rock slider for the Jimny GJ and HJ Tight-fitting rock slider made of aluminum with steel holding structure.  To increase the rigidity of the slider panel, "dimple the" beads are pressed into the front.  Replaces the original plastic sill protection.  The steel holding structure is replaced by pressing in threaded rivets in the sill (attention, drilling out the existing holes from 8.5 mm to 9 mm necessary). On the underside, the retaining structure is held in position by clamping the sill rebate. The slider panel can be replaced separately if damaged, provided the substructure has not been damaged Sill fold protected. Our Rockslider is made of high-quality aluminum and black matt powder-coated. We opted for the lightweight design, so our Rockslider is a functional aluminum cab protection, therefore not suitable for a jack, but in medium-difficult terrain it is more than sufficient protection.
