Whether CargoBear, FrontRunner or other roof rack systems, fastening our practical, two-part mounting rails is a question of minutes. Each rail’s bottom is attached to the carrier and the top to the underside of the roof tent, thereby providing and easy to reach connection that is equally quick to fasten or loosen again. That way, you only drive your tent around when you're actually going camping. As a general rule, two rails will be sufficient for mounting most tents. However, for larger/longer hard-shell tents, for example, we recommend using three rails. Our Nakatanenga seat covers come in two varieties: one made with sustainable natural materials, the other with tough synthetics. Both cushion types are universal in their use, fold into a small bag and can be easily carried by their own handles. They have two distinct sides so that you can use them in different weather condition and surroundings just by flipping them over. One side is warm and comfy, the other one more robust, water-resistant and easy to clean. This makes these seat covers extremely versatile, not only for sitting but also as warm and protective ground covers for little ones or your furry friends. The natural material variety is an Anglo-Bavarian combo. One side is stepped waxed cotton, as made popular by Barbour jackets, the other side is high quality natural Loden. Repair Instead of Replace – The Color Kit for Roof Tent Covers The protective hoods of roof tents usually have to take a lot during the season. The exposed position of the tents makes this almost inevitable. If the hood is damaged, foxing threatens the tent very quickly. For some, then Gaffa tape is the tried and tested medium of choice. Often enough for the rest of the journey. The consequences of a minimal leaking hood are not immediately visible or smelling! To prevent a nasty surprise in the spring, there is now our repair kit for PVC protective hoods. Material and tools are especially designed for larger repairs. Delivery: 2x brushes 1x 50 ml glue 1x PVC material 48x48cm Manual: Cut the patches and round off the corners. Clean the areas to be bonded (warm soapy water or degreasing detergent) After drying for 10-15 minutes, the glue can be applied to both sides with a brush. (Attention: do not apply too much and above all apply evenly) Let the adhesive surfaces dry again for 10-15 minutes so that the solvents can escape. Touch the glue - if it is dry, you can continue. Place the patches precisely and press firmly. Experts use a roller here. Similar tools like a bottle or rolling pin works too. Important here is the exact positioning, since a later adjustment of the patches is no longer possible. Also, the force that is applied to push the tarpaulin later decides the strength of the adhesive surface. Dry overnight and let air dry for long-term maintenance.

That’s why we are introducing our own hanging wash bag with the bear logo on it, for travel, outdoor and camping. Everything else out there hasn’t really done it for us, so we made some key improvements to the most important details and put them all in one cool roll! Advantage #1 for our Nakatanenga toiletry bag: lots of mesh! We’re using great amounts of mesh material especially in the interior zip bag area, so that the wash roll can dry off quickly after you’ve been to a tiny wet room. If your shampoo or deodorant has leaked again, you can quickly rinse the mesh in a sink or basin. The wash bags exterior is Nylon PU-coated and therefore extremely robust, easy to clean and water resistant. Advantage #2: our firm G-hook! Even brand wash bags often sport these cheap round hooks that come off with the slightest movement or push. As a result, your personal hygiene items are too often scattered on less than appealing bathroom floors. Our G-hook closes the rolled-up wash bag tightly and you can also use it to hang the bag securely in windy or cramped places. We also enclose a hooked suction cup to firmly fix the bag to smooth surfaces like tiles or glass. Advantage #3: Roll it up! Roll beats bag, anytime, even when it comes to wash bags. Our textile workshop has now come up with a dedicated storage bag with carrying straps especially for the WALUFLEX pipe. Made from robust and easy-to-clean 1000D Nylon material, the pack bag stores and protects the warm air tube. Moreover, it also saves a lot of valuable pack space. Tubes of up to 3 m length can be secured in the bag with two separate straps. Zip it up, job done! By the way, we have also sewn a patch of MOLLE fleece onto the front of the bag. Luckily, modern synthetic high-performance threads make these circumstances much less precarious as the phrase suggests. So why not rely on strings or cords made from such threads in your wilderness adventures? If you regularly encounter extreme outdoor conditions in your hobby or your job, you need light, durable and multi-purpose equipment which gives you the most performance per pound. Apart from a good knife, a length of good string is part of the absolute essentials in Bushcraft. Among other things, our Survival Cord will help you (in alphabetical order) to attach, carry, clean, dress wounds, fasten, fish, girdle, guide, hang, hunt, label, patch, repair, rig, save, saw, secure, signal, splice, splint, thread, tie, tow, trap, warn, weave and much, much more. The Nakatanenga cord sports a Kernmantle-style structure, an extremely light yet highly tearproof synthetic material, which, incidentally, we also use in our heavy duty winch cables. But in contrast to these ropes, the Survival Cord is only an astonishing 1.7 mm thin, while still boasting a breaking load of incredible 250 kg. That is more or less the weight for standard survival paracords, which in turn are usually more than twice as thick, though. Carry our Nakatanenga cord with you and it’ll be a load off your mind. You can use the 33 m length of string in your survival pouch or backpack to weave a thicker rope for emergencies. Tourniquet, ligation system When it comes to first aid after life-threatening accidents, the most important things to have are training, regular practice and quick access to proper first response equipment. This holds true for rescuing others as well as treating one’s own injuries if help is far away. Even with the most traumatic injuries, there is a great chance for survival if correct measures are taken immediately. The initial 5 minutes after the injury are crucial for first response, as is the so-called “golden hour” in which an injured person should then be delivered into professional medical care. In the 1990s, based on the requirement of special forces operations where paramedics are often not present and injured personnel has to be airlifted to receive medical care, the American military developed the TCCC Tactical Combat Casualty Care first response concept. TCCC enables everyone to administer first aid to heavily injured persons and give them the valuable time until professional medical help is available. TCCC is specifically designed to include one’s own injuries. An important item in any TCCC kit is a tourniquet, a high-pressure bandage to prevent fatal blood loss from extremities with arterial bleeding. In a civilian context, if your work or hobby carries a risk of severe injuries to your arms and legs, you should have a tourniquet in your first aid or trauma kit. This applies to accidents caused by machinery, timber or forestry work, hunting, motorsports, expeditions and many other activities. The tourniquet is non-sterile and can be applied with two hands to other people and single-handedly to your own injuries, ideally 2-4 inches above the wound. The tourniquet consists of a super-strong band and solid buckles to hold it firmly in place before pressure is applied. While other products often feature plastic windlass rods, this one is made from aluminum for extra strength and stability when tightening the device. The exact time of setting can be noted on the cuff for further care. If you want to put a trauma kit together, you should also consider an Israeli bandage to control heavily bleeding injuries and a vented chest seal to apply to penetrating, open chest wounds. CAUTION: In order to execute first aid procedures effectively and safely, the techniques for applying emergency dressings or bandages like a TCCC tourniquet should be practiced regularly – ideally in connection with first aid courses.
