Windscreen cover
Windscreen cover Famously, there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad preparation, if we may extend the scope of the old saying. In any case, you’re well prepared for all sorts of situations if you carry one of our Nakatanenga multifunctional covers in your car. One side is covered in an insulating aluminum thermal foil, the other is made from PU coated, stepped nylon, making it a perfect multi-purpose cover. Especially when it’s cold or wet or both. The material is extremely robust, water-repellent and easy to clean. In winter, it makes the perfect windshield cover, especially for SUV’s or 4x4’s. With ample dimensions of 162 x 86 cm the mat features on the nylon side 6 firmly sewn-in d-rings made from sturdy plastic. You simply attach the included rubber straps, your own elastic cords and fasten them to mirrors or other structural features. The insulated aluminum side sports 5 cm wide and 20 cm long nylon straps that are meant to be trapped in the door frame. That way nothing will shift or be blown away by the wind overnight. In the morning everyone will appreciate a snow and ice-free windshield. The mat also does an excellent job at other times of the year or on other occasions. Nakatanenga Backpack
The Nakatanenga backpack When product design becomes a matter of survival, as in military equipment, the principle of reduction applies to the maximum. The superfluous or useless is mercilessly sorted out and each part is charged with as many functions as possible. Therefore, it is never wrong to take tactical equipment as a model to make everyday products better. This is what we did with our new backpack and created an all-rounder, which is due to its practical properties as a Bug Out / Survival Bag as well as a daypack for school, university or work. Ergonomically, we paid attention to wearing comfort. Depending on the package, four adjustable straps ensure stability and comfort. Removable chest and waist straps reduce weight on the shoulders for greater stability when running, climbing or cycling. The mesh padding on the back is especially pleasant on longer tours. Due to the better ventilation, it reduces the sweat through the clothes. A variety of compartments and pockets with a total volume of about 17l provides maximum flexibility when stowing equipment or everyday objects. For long backpacking tours even a hydration can be used. The drinking tube can be passed through a specially designed opening on the handle. Straps on the straps and LaserCut MOLLE on the front and sides make it possible to individually attach additional packs and utensils such as our bottle holder. In design and execution, two things were important to us. On the one hand, the quality of materials and workmanship typical of Nakatanenga. A highlight here are YKK's inside-out zippers, which keep dust and water out. On the other hand, we also wanted to implement the tactical "Gray Man" principle with this backpack. Our cargo mesh for the Suzuki Jimny II (from MY2018) will generate a lot of storage room in a place that’s rarely used: under the roof in the cargo bay.To attach the 93 x 60 cm netting to the roof trim, all you need to do is mount two aluminum frame elements in the front and the back. They are the same color as the mesh for a seamless look. The elastic cargo mesh can then be attached to the frame and the interior grab handles with 12 adjustable straps. To make it easier for you to fill the mesh space, there are also two click buckles in the front for easy access.Light and flat pieces of equipment, sleeping bags, textiles and the like will find the perfect storage space inside the mesh, even in a fully loaded Jimny.If you do not have handles on the headlining, 2 ring nuts are supplied to attach the net. Cargo net for the classic Defender The roof lining is the least utilised area in the interior of a car. Yet it's a great place to pack away light and flat items in particular - if you have one of our ingeniously practical cargo nets installed.The 102 x 76 cm net for the old Defender (up to 2016) can be stretched in different ways depending on the vehicle size or configuration. In the 110, for example, this means at the very rear above the load compartment or the third row of seats, or in the centre. As the net is always accessible from the front and rear, this practical storage space extension can even be accessed quickly from the driver or front passenger seat in hardtops, camper conversions and other two-seaters.Tightening the flexible cargo mesh in the roof liner is extremely easy with 14 straps and belt clamps. The supplied expanding rivets also enable the aforementioned customised positioning of the holder. A 10.5 m long elastic band can also be pulled in under the mesh in a zigzag shape. Anyone following our new products will already be familiar with our Box Inlay pockets for the Alu-Box Pro. The principle is similar: you can pre-pack the bag at home to load/unload the drawer quickly. Do you have lots of small parts stored in your drawer system and want to carry these items with you as quickly and easily as possible? Sounds complicated, but it's not - at least with the Drawer Inlay bag! Pack at home, put in the drawer, take out again, carry around, put back in the drawer, repack at home ... it can be that easy! Always with a leash There are basically two ways of managing our hectic day-to-day lives: one is to always think of everything before you go out or when plans change: keys, phone, wallet and all the other stuff. The other far better solution is to have backups handy, in case you do forget – as you will. Our “Always-on-you” dog lead belongs in the second category. It is so small, light (and affordable), that it’s probably best to own several of them and always have one handy wherever they’re needed, in your car, handbag or coat pocket. That way, you always have a leash with you when you’re out and about with your dog. The lead is 1.6 m long and is made from extremely strong polyamide fabric (max. pull force 315 kg). It is 100% Made in Germany, and as always with products from our own textile workshop, we take care that the highest quality workmanship is applied in manufacturing – in this case, the leash is even made to military spec TL8470-0071. The aluminum karabiner, with its firm snap gate and the 360°- swivel is firmly sewn into the strap. Leash and karabiner hook combined are smaller than a packet of tissues and not much heavier. It is much lighter than solid plastic or aluminum bowls and requires much less storing space in your backpack or on your person. This is where the impeccably modern cockpit by design director Gerry McGovern and colleagues pays homage to the interior of the classic Defender, the original Landy. Good for us, because we immediately spotted an opportunity to improve storage capabilities: with our nifty dashboard bag for the New Defender. The open dashboard shelf is where you put all the odds and ends in your car. It was like that in the old Landy, it will probably be the same in the new one. But once you’re testing the L663’s tilt angle or maximum gradient, our new dashboard bag, made from easy-to-clean, robust nylon, will keep your stuff from actually flying around. Installing the bag firmly in the dash takes only a few minutes. The zipper has two sliders so that the bag can be opened and shut from both sides. Nakatanenga Muff for cosy, warm hands In the winter and on cold days in general, there are many occasions when gloves or mittens are not really practical because you need to use your hands off and on. This applies especially to activities where you keep still or move only slowly for longer periods of time, like winter sports events as a spectator, slow walks, visits to Christmas markets or aurora safaris in the far North. Or think about those outdoor pursuits that require the fine motor skills of your hands and fingers, as in hunting or ice fishing for example. The ideal place to warm your hands in these situations is not your coat pocket but a super warm and practical muff. Our muffs are manufactured in our very own textile shop from PU-coated nylon fabric. They sport an interior Polar Fleece lining and an intermediate wadding layer to create extremely efficient insulation that will warm your hands really quickly. On both ends, we’ve sewn in drawstrings to prevent cold air entering through the openings. That would make a lot of sense because those neat little items beat every backpack and every other kind of bag when you are out and about without much equipment. Your hands are free and so is your back, giving you freedom of movement in all terrains and also preventing you from sweating through your shirt or jacket. Whether you’re hiking, jogging or walking your dog, our Tactical Bear hip bag supplies enough storage space to carry all your essentials with you. If all you want from a belt is to hold your trousers up, you’re not thinking this through! Why not turn this principle on its head then and convert storage space into comfortable seating? Especially when we are talking about ubiquitous items like transport boxes? Our neat and snug seat cushions make even boring aluminum cases “hugge” and that’s Danish for comfy. Danish-inspired simplicity also marks out the design of our outdoor cushion: puristic, functional and in a stylish graphite grey, it perfectly matches the aluminum box. Re-usable Face Masks with Changeable Filters Made in Germany In the West, we can take a lot of inspiration from the East when it comes to preventing the spread of infections for oneself and others. In Asia, face masks are an integral part of everyday life. Often still frowned upon in our culture, the experience during the lockdown has made us more pragmatic, not the least due to recommendations by the Robert-Koch-Institute or various international medical associations. According to many experts, even simple home-made masks without FFP2/3 certification can significantly reduce the risk of becoming infected and, more importantly, to spread infections to others.The Nakatanenga face mask is extremely robust, reusable, made of mesh on the outside and a replaceable 3-layer filter layer on the inside. The mesh material of the mask wearer is normally used in rucksacks and many of our bags, so it is extremely resistant, but on its own without any protective effect. The fleece for the filter inserts comes from industry, but is free of chemical pollutants and does not put additional strain on the organism. The inner lining is made from original Coolmax®, usually applied in sports and outdoor clothes. Coolmax® is skin-friendly, fast drying and wicks away moisture. The anatomic fit and an adaptable rubber cord with a stopper make this mask very comfortable to wear, thereby increasing the protective effect.The mix of high-quality materials and the design based on expert recommendations lets us offer a long lived and robust mask for repeated use, made in EU. To ensure optimum efficiency, the mask should be worn for the maximum duration of one day. After that it should ideally be machine washed with regular detergent. Wash as often as possible. General opinion among medical professionals considers 60°C as sufficient, but you can also wash it at 90°C. Swap the changeable filters during the course of the day. CAUTION: do not use fabric softeners, as they can destroy the fleece’s filtering capacity. Do not tumble dry. We explicitly state that our face masks are NOT medical masks with certified protection against COVID19 and other pathogens. But since there is still a shortage of medical protection equipment and the proper personal protective equipment is best employed in hospitals and by first responders, we want to help wherever we can. That’s why we are producing our masks based on recommendations by scientists and the medical authorities, advising that fabric masks can reduce the risk of airborne infection.
