An off-roader is many things: transporter, camper, workhorse and sometimes even a hotel room. What it can’t do by itself: ventilate comfortably. Just an hour in mild autumn sun can turn the cabin into an oven; after a rainy night it becomes a dripstone cave. Proper ventilation isn’t a luxury – it’s essential.

Ventilation Panels – small parts, big impact

The theory is simple: leave the window slightly open. But what about rain, mosquitos or prying hands? That’s exactly what our vehicle-specific ventilation panels made from powder-coated aluminium are for. Robust, discreet and fitted in seconds, they ensure constant air circulation while driving, parked or sleeping in the vehicle. To keep the little pests out at night, the panels include an integrated mosquito mesh.

Keep mould at bay

If you’ve ever spent a rainy night in the vehicle, you know the drill: outside air cools overnight, moisture from breathing accumulates inside and by morning the windows are fogged, upholstery clammy and even metal surfaces damp. Without ventilation, your only option is towelling everything dry. Skip that or swing the doors open with the heater blasting the next morning and by day three of rain you’ll be fighting mould.

Up to one litre of moisture per night

Even on dry nights, plenty of moisture builds up in the cabin – an adult exhales up to one litre of water overnight. Without air exchange, this settles on glass, metal and headliner. And persistent moisture means… exactly: mould.

Our ventilation panels keep the air moving. Slot them into the window and air circulates; moisture is drawn outside. Even after several rainy days your rig smells like adventure, not a basement. When the sun’s out, the airflow through the grille prevents that suffocating tin-can effect.

Important: Ventilation panels are NOT a free pass to leave children or pets in a hot car!

Nakatanenga ventilation panels for Defender rear sliding windows

For the classic Land Rover Defender we offer ventilation panels for the rear side windows as well as special grilles for the rear sliding windows.

The rear sliding side windows on the Defender are a typical Landy detail: charming, but of questionable practicality. Small, horizontally sliding and completely overwhelmed when you try to ventilate while driving – especially in rain or dust. Parked up, they almost invite opportunists to reach in.

Our sliding-window grilles use a clever clamping mechanism: positioned vertically in one window half, the sliding pane locks the panel in place. Result: fresh air in, rain and thieves out – both parked and on the move.

The horizontal slots come with a precisely integrated mosquito mesh to keep bugs and other nuisances out. Drips and spray are directed outside via small channels. Made from aluminium and powder-coated black, the panels blend in discreetly with any Landy.

Available in two lengths:

• 2 louvres: 215 mm
• 3 louvres: 270 mm

Note: If the lower window frame has three short slots, choose the 3-row louvre panel.

Ventilation, heat protection & wind deflectors – Suzuki Jimny GJ & HJ

There are smart solutions for the smallest off-roader as well. Alongside the special ventilation panels for the front side windows, we also offer wind deflectors for the front doors.

The robust acrylic deflectors reliably keep rain and snow out while driving or parked. They let you crack the window to avoid heat buildup in summer. Sold as a pair in smoke grey.

Sun and heat protection with Sonniboy for the Jimny

For the Suzuki Jimny II we also offer a tailored sun and privacy solution for the rear side windows and rear window. The Sonniboy set by ClimAir is a precisely fitted mesh that blocks heat and prying eyes. The three meshes sit like a second skin in the frames, looking near-OEM once installed.

The patented mesh blocks up to 97% of UV radiation, keeping the interior up to eight degrees cooler. Sonniboy can be used with the window open, protecting not only from sun but also draughts, insects and dust.

To prevent rattles or slippage, the fabric sits in a sturdy metal frame that stays taut under its own tension. Retaining clips lock the frame into the window seal – no drilling, no screws, just click in. As an AC complement, Sonniboy acts like extra shade so kids and pets ride comfortably even in strong sun.

Off-roaders and aerodynamics have a complicated relationship. On boxy classics like the Defender, G-Class or Jimny, opening the window creates turbulence that brings noise, dust and rain into the cabin. If you still want fresh air, go for wind deflectors.

These robust acrylic panels fit precisely and let you open the window slightly without letting in draughts, water or dirt. They improve cabin climate, prevent fogging and can be matched discreetly to the vehicle’s look.

Wind deflectors are especially practical for long drives in rain or dusty conditions. While ventilation panels are aimed at parking and overnighting, wind deflectors ensure airflow while driving – quiet, discreet and reliable. We typically offer them in three tints: black, smoke grey and clear.

Do the panels and deflectors fit any vehicle?

Our ventilation panels are vehicle-specific. We cover many off-roaders, vans and high-roof MPVs. If your vehicle isn’t listed, universal adjustable panels are a great alternative. ClimAir wind deflectors are always vehicle-specific – there are no universal versions.

How do I install the ventilation panels?

It’s simple: wind the window down, place the panel in the frame, then raise the window again. The panel clamps securely, sits rattle-free and can be removed anytime without tools.

How do I install the wind deflectors?

ClimAir deflectors slide into the window seal and sit securely without tools. Some models include a narrow pre-applied adhesive strip for extra hold on specific window frames.

Can I leave my dog or child in the car with ventilation panels?

Absolutely not. Ventilation panels improve airflow and reduce moisture, but they never replace a safe environment. Leaving children or pets in a car can be life-threatening – even in mild weather.
