Detailed description: What are the advantages of the two-part doors compared to the original doors? In addition to the significantly lower price for the series-style doors, it is primarily the design and construction. Instead of the push-button handles on the standard doors, there are recessed lever handles as on the rear. Due to their design, these handles are significantly more resistant to break-ins because they are fitted with a stronger latch mechanism. They also do not protrude, which can make all the difference when driving off-road or through narrow passages. The retro doors also save space in the interior, which will be appreciated by any tall driver who otherwise has to make do with seat rails and small steering wheels. No more rust: replacement bulkhead for Td5 and 300 Tdi The bulkhead is pretty much the most complex body part in a Landy – and one of the most vulnerable components, too. For one, it’s sporting many edges, corners, folds, curves and rivet connections and requires a considerable number of screw holes: to the frame, to the connections in the engine bay and to the windshield. Add to that a whole bunch of openings for steering, pedals, air and electrics and you see the problem. All this structural complexity combined with its positioning exposes the bulkhead to water splashing up from below or trickling down from above. Dirt and chemicals collect in the nooks and crannies and trap moisture almost permanently. On the inside of the cabin condensation or leaks can produce the same effect behind the dashboard, panels or floor mats, thereby creating constant moisture exposure from both sides. No wonder, that the bulkhead is one of those components that suffer most from visible or hidden corrosion. Over time, it can even affect the frame. Doors for Land Rover Defender Suitable for Defender TD4 2007 onwards The doors are primed. Available for front, back, left and right - Please choos the desired variant. Surface Treatment Notice This component is supplied exclusively with a primer coating. This primer is intended solely for temporary corrosion protection during storage and transport and is not suitable as a permanent surface finish for exterior automotive use. It is essential to sand the component, apply a suitable primer, and then either paint or powder-coat it in order to ensure rust resistance. Optionally, we recommend treating the inside of the component with a suitable corrosion protection grease. Only this will reliably prevent corrosion from forming again inside the component over the long term.  

The areas around the doors are corrosion hotbeds in a Defender. Even though this is a well-known fact, the rust remains very often undetected and keeps eating into structural components and body panels. The doors feature many corners, angles and surfaces that constantly trap water and wet dirt. Screw fittings, rivets, welding points, the combination of different materials like steel, aluminum and rubber as well as mechanical stress often exacerbate the problem. If you are facing large scale restoration work in your 4/5 door Defender, you might consider whether a complete replacement of B and C pillars as well as the door sill isn’t the cheaper, quicker and most of all more thorough solution. We are offering entire sets for the right or left side of all models where door seals are only pushed in and not riveted. If you have riveted seals, they need to be adapted. Heated windshield wire harness complete with Carling Contura switch for Defender equipped with OEM style heated windshields with two tabs or wires - one in each corner. Carling switch will require assembly. The kit requires minimal connections such as positive and negative terminals, ignition power and lighting power. The kit is rated at 20 amps with a turn-on time of approximately ten minutes and is suitable for use with the heated window part number CMB000411 or equivalent. The power cable is 500 mm long and is terminated with M8 rings from the relay set to the battery. The supply cable for the heated screen is 3000 mm long and terminates with an insulated lug socket. We are offering individual C posts for the right or left side of all models where door seals are only pushed in and not riveted. If you have riveted seals, they need to be adapted. Repair panel rear sump for Defender 110 Td4, Td5 and Tdi Rust thrives best when it is hidden, especially when corners, angles or edges favour the constant accumulation of water and damp dirt. This is why Defender 110 Station Wagons often have hidden rust spots under the rear seat bench mount or on the frame holder. To avoid having to replace the entire base plate of the rear tub in the event of advanced contact corrosion, we now offer an exclusive, easy-to-fit repair kit for the particularly susceptible area under the seat bench. The kit consists of the main plate, two side parts and sufficient rivets. For installation (see pictures), the existing welding points on the rear tub are first drilled out. The sheet metal is then simply positioned accordingly, glued in place with body sealant and fixed at the sides with clamps. Once dry, drill the sheet metal at the pre-drilled welding points and insert the rivets. The two side panels are then attached in the same way. Glow plug connector Land Rover Defender If the diesel has difficulty getting going when starting from cold, and if it nails and smokes particularly badly, this is often due to the glow plugs. Before replacing the plugs, however, you should first check the condition of the cables and plugs. Often, the problem is simply that cables and plugs are exposed through porous plastic sheathing and the electrical contacts are suffering. As a rule, the service life of the plugs far exceeds that of the cable and plug connections, because cables and plugs and their insulation are naturally much more exposed to mechanical and weather-related influences. With our glow plug connector repair kits, Defender with Td5 and Td4 2.4l engines can be very easily retrofitted in case of problems with cables or connectors. This is also recommended if the glow plug set is being replaced anyway. The advantage of the repair kit is that the next time a problem occurs, it is not necessary to replace the entire wiring harness at great expense; instead, it is sufficient to replace the plug and cable up to the crimp connection. Seat pad Land Rover Defender Many Landy critics bemoan the seat position in the Defender, the missing elbow room and the spartan original Land Rover seats. But that’s doing a disservice to the furniture from Solihull, especially the improved versions that were introduced in 2007. Even taller drivers, with seat rail extensions installed, can do mile after mile without problems for back and behind. So, if you’re restoring an old Defender or you put too much mileage on yours, it’s worth considering to refurbish the old seats instead of putting brand new ones in. As long as the seat covers are fine and only the foam cores have disintegrated, an upgrade with new seat foams can make a huge difference. This is classic DIY and pretty easy to do with our replacement foams for backrests and seat cushions. Simply remove the whole seat, take the backrest and seat cushion out, remove the covers and rip the old foam off the frame. The new foam cores can be fixed to the frame with standard spray adhesives. Then reverse the process and enjoy your firm new seats. The seat fits all Defender standard outer front seats up to 2016, the backrest for 2007 - 2016. Not suitable for special models.

Steering drop arm puller - for Defender This item was designed to remove the handlebar arm from the steering box. The Defender steering drop arm can wear because of its position low down at the front of the chassis — it’s exposed to all the road spray and water that gets thrown at it. Water gets into the joint and eventually you will have to replace the drop arm and ball joint because the rust has corroded it. However splitting the steering drop arm from the steering box can be problematic because the steering drop arm and the steering box splines corrode together. This tool solves that problem. Supplied with a spare threaded bar.
