Parabolic springs for 88" and 109", Land Rover Series II, IIA and III, front (2-layer) and rear axle (3-layer); including Cellular Dynamic shock absorbers Basically, a parabolic spring is a spring that consists of two or more leaves. The leaves only touch in three places: In the centre, where they are attached to the axle, and at the outer ends, where they are attached to the vehicle. Between these points, the leaves do not touch, unlike conventional leaf springs.Since in the Parabolic spring a spring tapers from the wide centre to the outer ends, a single leaf acts like a complete spring - the thickness of the spring changes according to a parabola and provides a constant distribution of tension. Each leaf has more or less the shape of a complete multi-leaf spring and can therefore withstand a comparable force. The high quality OEM parabolic springs are paired with Cellular Dynamic shock absorbers. Also included in the kit are leaf spring correction wedges that can be used to correct caster or diff bolt angle by 3 degrees. The parabolic springs include u-bolts and nuts. Bushes are by and large the first components in the chassis suspension that degrade due to ageing generally or mechanical, thermal and chemical exposure specifically. If they don’t get replaced in time, the first warning signs you’ll experience are rattling or clanking noises, deterioration of handling and impaired road safety. Ultimately, critical damages to the solid components can occur, from radius arms to shock absorbers. This applies specifically to vehicles like Defenders, operating under heavy duty conditions both off- and on-roads and particularly when towing trailers. Our complete OEM replacement kits include bushes for the entire suspension (except for shock absorbers) for Defenders Tdi, Td5 or Td4. Correction wedges 3° for leaf spring axles - for optimising the axle geometry If you raise your car’s suspension or exchange your original shocks, most of the time axle or wheel geometry, i.e. caster or camber angles, will get out of alignment. To correct aberrations on axles with leaf springs, especially our 3-leaf parabolic springs for the 88” rear axle Land Rover Series II, IIA und III, we are now carrying these caster correction wedges. The wedges provide 3° correction and have a 13 mm pin opening.
