Nakatanenga spare wheel carrier Defender SW/HT
This full stainless steel spare wheel carrier for Defender SW/HT is the successor to our Defender spare wheel carrier RRHNAHI sold by the hundreds. It is available in two colours. The Defender rear door suffers from the heavy weight of the large spare wheel. Depending on use, after about five years or 50.000 kms the first cracks in the rear door frame appear. There are two solutions for this well-known problem: either move the spare wheel to the bonnet (see our bonnet spare wheel mount for that, not possible for post MY 2007 Defenders) or you fit our rear door spare wheel carrier. It takes off the complete weight from the rear door and opens along with the door. The carrier is fitted to the rear crossmember, a plate is mounted to the existing holes in the door, which is then attached to the carrier with two cranked stainless steel pivots. This carrier has been tested extensively, among others on the "Grand Erg" rallye and combines easy fitting with high toughness and exeptional usability. Available for all Defender models with rear door (Station and Hardtop). Improved design in 2014 and full stainless steel fabrication. The bearing is maintenance free, the complete carrier rustproof and can be completely revised it necessary. It's compatible with Land Rover rear step / bumper with towbar. So far, so obvious and normally it doesn’t matter anyway because in a 4x4 you’re unlikely to reach the speeds where it becomes problematic. But there is one aspect where the rustic box shape of Defender does show the effects of aerodynamic neglect and that’s the nearly rectangular shape and the straight and vertical positioning of the windows. There’s more than one reason in a 4x4 to crack your windows a little, whether you’re off-roading or it’s cold and wet. Your classic Defender’s windows for instance are misting up because the ventilation famously isn’t up to the job of defogging them. And that’s when you see the effect we’ve talked about in the beginning. The drag around the cracked windows is not only loud, it also pulls more dust and water inwards and that’s pretty annoying, even for hardcore off-roaders. Wind deflectors by ClimAir for Defender, offer the perfect solution. Their tailor-made fit and robust build guarantee improved intake of fresh air and better climatic conditions inside the vehicle all year round while protecting the windows. Windscreen Bracket Kit for Land Rover Defender The original windscreen support brackets on the Defender are one of those details on the car that sooner or later cry out for cosmetic surgery. All kinds of corrosion – by exposure, metal contact, environmental or automotive chemicals – affect the parts and simply make them look shabby. The result is rust, peeling paint and streaking on the bodywork. Fortunately, replacing the brackets is one of the easiest jobs on the Landy. Our replacement brackets are available in two versions: black powder-coated or anodized aluminum. Both processes - anodizing and powder coating - ensure extremely resistant and durable sealing of the aluminum parts. During anodizing, electrolysis creates a porous surface structure, which is particularly suitable to absorb color pigments. In a last step, the anodizing is then compacted and thus sealed. However, black anodized aluminum tends to fade, which is why we have opted for powder coating for the deep black option. If you’re aiming for a look other than black or aluminum gray, you can of course paint it yourself or have it painted. You can also achieve your desired custom effect with our range of RAPTOR products. TREKFINDER fender extension kit Land Rover Defender 20mm, 150cm long
Whether you’re going for a more muscular look or just better off-road performance, there are many good reasons to widen your Defender’s stance. You can go for fat MT tires or you can widen the track with wheel spacers or negative offset rims to achieve the desired effect. But keep in mind that your wheel covers may no longer be sufficient for your country’s road regulations and that in turn could affect your 4x4’s road legality. Apart from costly surprises in traffic stops, you also want to avoid potentially dangerous water and mud spray or debris being catapulted from exposed wheels. And then there’s also that slightly unbalanced look… At Nakatanenga, we thought there’s got to be a better solution than what’s out there and that’s why we teamed up with the experts at TREKFINDER to give you a functional, easily attached and exclusive solution to extend your existing original wheel arch guards. The result is a discrete self-adhesive rubber extension strip that widens the original Land Rover wheel arch guard by another 20 mm, simply by sticking it onto the original part. There’s no need to remove the original parts, drill new screw holes etc. The new guard’s protruding adhesive lip fits perfectly onto the original part and makes it very easy to position the 1.5 m extension perfectly. This should also work with identical after-market parts by Britpart et al, but with non-original parts we are unable to provide a warranty, of course. With a little experience and some planning, though, you can easily adjust the strips’ required length or their radius with a boxcutter and some sanding paper. Again, alterations are not covered by our product warranties. And last but not least, since our wheel arch extensions are self-adhesive, they are just as easily removed as they are mounted. Due to their size and the horizontal sliding direction, it makes little sense to have them open while driving – especially in rainy weather or dusty conditions. And while parked, they are an open invitation for burglars and thieves.That’s why we have expanded our range of ventilation plates and are now offering them for both sides of the rear sliding windows in the old Landy (up to MY 2016). The plates have a folding mechanism in the middle that allows for vertical positioning in the open window.
