Repair panel rear sump for Defender 110 Td4, Td5 and Tdi Rust thrives best when it is hidden, especially when corners, angles or edges favour the constant accumulation of water and damp dirt. This is why Defender 110 Station Wagons often have hidden rust spots under the rear seat bench mount or on the frame holder. To avoid having to replace the entire base plate of the rear tub in the event of advanced contact corrosion, we now offer an exclusive, easy-to-fit repair kit for the particularly susceptible area under the seat bench. The kit consists of the main plate, two side parts and sufficient rivets. For installation (see pictures), the existing welding points on the rear tub are first drilled out. The sheet metal is then simply positioned accordingly, glued in place with body sealant and fixed at the sides with clamps. Once dry, drill the sheet metal at the pre-drilled welding points and insert the rivets. The two side panels are then attached in the same way. This aluminum profile helps to seal the door and the cargo hold, it protects the loading edge and also holds down the carpet or floor mat in the cargo area. No wonder that it frequently has to be replaced, whether it’s for visual defects or functional degradation. Our replacement profile matches the Land Rover OEM part (AQR710020) in form, function and quality, but offers a lot more value for money, as it only costs about half as much.

Repair plate C-pillar left or left side for Defender 110/130
All the nooks and crannies in your Defender attract and hold water or wet dirt, which makes them a hotbed for corrosion – small wonder that the door areas are often affected by rust. Especially the C pillars in 4/5-door models frequently require replacement in Defender restorations because fittings, screw holes, undersides and the gaps between struts and body panels are a breeding ground for corrosion and often develop critical damage. Instead of piecemeal repair with angle grinder and welder, it’s often preferable to swap the entire component. We are offering individual C posts for the right or left side of all models where door seals are only pushed in and not riveted. If you have riveted seals, they need to be adapted. No more rust: replacement bulkhead for Td5 and 300 Tdi The bulkhead is pretty much the most complex body part in a Landy – and one of the most vulnerable components, too. For one, it’s sporting many edges, corners, folds, curves and rivet connections and requires a considerable number of screw holes: to the frame, to the connections in the engine bay and to the windshield. Add to that a whole bunch of openings for steering, pedals, air and electrics and you see the problem. All this structural complexity combined with its positioning exposes the bulkhead to water splashing up from below or trickling down from above. Dirt and chemicals collect in the nooks and crannies and trap moisture almost permanently. On the inside of the cabin condensation or leaks can produce the same effect behind the dashboard, panels or floor mats, thereby creating constant moisture exposure from both sides. Galvanised frame for Defender and Discovery
Frame galvanised This is where it all starts with a real 4x4 in general and the (classic) Defender in particular: We’re talking about the ladder-frame chassis, of course. Everything else is open to discussion with most serious off-roaders, that one ain’t. If your older Defender Td4, Td5, Tdi or your Discovery II Td5 is bound for a chassis replacement due to corrosion or structural damage, we can now supply an EU-manufactured, galvanized frame. The manufacturer is a supplier for military Defenders and that’s why critical parts of the chassis are strengthened. More robust than the original, they weigh only slightly more. Overall, the chassis are manufactured to the original measurements and are therefore easy to fit. The frame’s high-quality galvanizing offers superb protection from corrosion and can also be painted to enhance protective qualities even further. It also improves the look of the vehicle and makes technical inspections go more smoothly, judging from experience. All you need before the paint job is an application of Etch Primer to create an adhesive layer between zinc and paint. Etch Primer is a highly adhesive one-component epoxy that can be used on all the usual automotive surface materials. It simply sprays on and is the ideal primer for all subsequent quality finishes. Galvanized standard chassis frames for 90 and 110 can be supplied from the shelf for Defender and Discovery models mentioned above. The Tdi chassis construction supports a Td5 rear crossmember. This has the additional advantage that – in contrast to the Tdi – new towing components are still available, including the height adjustable Dixon Bate system. The areas around the doors are corrosion hotbeds in a Defender. Even though this is a well-known fact, the rust remains very often undetected and keeps eating into structural components and body panels. The doors feature many corners, angles and surfaces that constantly trap water and wet dirt. Screw fittings, rivets, welding points, the combination of different materials like steel, aluminum and rubber as well as mechanical stress often exacerbate the problem. If you are facing large scale restoration work in your 4/5 door Defender, you might consider whether a complete replacement of B and C pillars as well as the door sill isn’t the cheaper, quicker and most of all more thorough solution. We are offering entire sets for the right or left side of all models where door seals are only pushed in and not riveted. If you have riveted seals, they need to be adapted.
