Increased brightness for long-distance and close-range illumination Especially when driving on country roads and unpaved paths, increased visibility can be an important safety factor. The LEDriving® Functional Series FX Gen 2 portfolio provides additional close-range and far-field illumination on dark roads. Even in poor visibility conditions or at dusk, the high-performance LEDs achieve a range of up to 635 metres and daylight conditions with a colour temperature of 6000 Kelvin. This corresponds to a service life of over 17 years, assuming 8 hours of operation per day. low power consumption - regular headlights require 55 watts per headlight for low beam, 60 watts for high beam, and often even 100 watt bulbs are used. Not only is this not authorised, it also overloads the standard wiring and light switches. LED headlights, on the other hand, only require 35 watts (at 14 V voltage supplied by an alternator) per headlight. Vision-X LED spotlight with E-mark LED headlights from Vision-X with E-mark for legal use on the road - the E-mark is valid when the headlights are used in pairs and used as driving lights. Price per pair. From currently four different product series, headlamps from Vision-X are now ECE certified, i.e. they may legally be used in road traffic as main beam headlamps. This test only applies to one model with the specified number of LEDs, brightness and beam angle. We have summarised these models again here and offer them as a pair. The reference number of a single spotlight is 7.5. All these spotlights have in common that they are equipped with 9 LEDs of 5W each, which results in 4,437 lumens per spotlight. They differ in their respective construction, mounting and adjustability. The EPX-910 model has a square design (3x 3 LEDs) while the TPX-910 model has a classic round design and fits very well with classic off-road vehicle models such as the Land Rover Defender, Jeep Wrangler or Toyota Land Cruiser. It also allows the use of coloured lens covers to improve visibility in certain weather situations. The two models, LPX-910 and HPX-910, both have a strip design (approx. 35cm wide) and differ in their mounting. While the LPX model has an adjustability of 15°, the HPX-910 shines with a very sophisticated mount that allows an adjustment of 180°, making it suitable for difficult mounting situations. Nakatanenga Lamp Bracket for Land Rover Defender The Nakatanenga lamp bracket is the answer to customer requests for a flat mounting solution for lamps on the Land Rover Defender, which does not increase the overall height of the vehicle (when the lamps are mounted suspended) - this means that, for example, the use of an underground garage / driveway is still possible without having to do without adequate lighting. The one-piece bracket is made entirely of stainless steel and powder-coated in black. It offers four mounting eyes for individual spotlights or the feet of one or two LED bars. It also has an additional mounting eyelet in the centre (facing backwards) that can be used for a GPS or radio antenna. The support tube has openings so that the connecting cables of the headlamps (not supplied) can be neatly routed inside it. Eyelets for attaching cable ties round off the well thought-out details. The bracket is equipped with four round Vision-X Cannon 25 W LED spotlights, which have an E-mark. A total luminous flux of 10,000 lumens is generated from one 25 W Luminus LED per lamp (raw), the power consumption is only 2.1 A (at 12 V), the lights are multi-voltage capable (9-32 V). All luminaires have a narrow, far-reaching illumination to the front. If you require a different light characteristic (e.g. wide beam) or a different light colour (e.g. yellow for fog or blue for snow), please order the optional add-on filters. Cannot be combined with the original Land Rover lamps and also not with Mantec lamps! For a clean installation, we recommend the Aquasignal cable gland for the roof (so that the light bar remains easily removable) as well as our power distributor with fuse holder. Lights: which system is the right one?
Especially for motorists, good main beams and the resulting visibility is an important safety aspect. While standard halogen headlights have a maximum range of about 140 metres, Xenon and LED lamps can reach up to 240 metres. Those who skimp on the lighting of their vehicle not only has to accept inferior output and longevity, but also insufficient lighting of the road ahead. This might be in compliance with the legal requirements, but especially driving off the beaten has demands much more from a light system. Technology has dramatically advanced in the past years, and it's really time for an upgrade from traditional main beams to modern, durable lighting technology!
The classic one: halogen
While cost-efficient halogen lights are still widely used in vehicle lighting due to cost reduction, the light output is not sufficient for many drivers. The light as a typical yellow tone to it and an irregular, diffuse light pattern. In comparison to LED lights, halogen headlights seem outdated. They are also susceptible to shocks and vibration, which makes them less than perfect for off-road vehicles, often also equipped with a rough diesel engine.
The glaring one: Xenon
In contrast to this there are the brighter and more energy efficient Xenon lights. These gas-discharge lamps are produced to simulate natural daylight as closely as possible. The longevity of Xenon lights is about four times that of halogen lights. However, I high-tech electronic control unit is needed. Additionally, self-cleaning systems and automatic levelling units are compulsory for all vehicles equipped with Xenon lights. High maintenance costs and a higher susceptibility - especially in off-road use - mean that Xenon lights are an expensive alternative that has today largely been replaced by modern LED lights.
The efficient one: LED lights
Today they are not only fitted to indicators, daylight driving lights and rear lights, but also as main beam units. Modern LED lights offer high light output, a light spectrum close to daylight, space-saving size and highly efficient energy consumption as well as an abundance of design variants. Apart from a superior longevity compared to all other light systems, LED lights also offer the best vibration resistance by far. Even long drives on washboard roads can do no harm to these modern and durable lights.
LED lighting systems consist of one or more LED diodes which turn electrical current into light at very low heat emission. In a headlight an optical lens is placed in front of the LED which focusses the beam, lighting the road ahead very evenly and at an optimum.
LED lights for off-road vehicles as an energy-saving aftermarket replacement
Apart from all the above-mentioned advantages of LED lights, they also don't need the self-cleaning systems of the Xenon lights. Therefore, they can easily be installed even in older vehicles. An active beam levelling unit is also not necessary. All LED headlights sold by us are E-marked for legal use on public roads. Thus, there is nothing that prevents the simple and cost-effective replacement of your old headlights. In addition to main headlights we also supply optional spotlights, work lights - also in form of the popular lights bars - rear light and signal lights, as well as indicator lights for all well-established off-road vehicles.
