Robust LED worklight If you are looking for a lot of light in a compact design, the Transporter Xtreme Prime series is the answer - with a diameter of just 6.5", a single spotlight emits up to 8,874 lumens - or less if required, as they can be regulated via an optional dimmer. A special feature is the optional coloured diffusing lenses that are available for the spotlights. This allows the light colour to be matched to the respective conditions. Nakatanenga Lamp Bracket for Land Rover Defender The Nakatanenga lamp bracket is the answer to customer requests for a flat mounting solution for lamps on the Land Rover Defender, which does not increase the overall height of the vehicle (when the lamps are mounted hanging down) - this means that, for example, the use of an underground garage / driveway is still possible without having to do without adequate lighting. When the lamps are mounted upright, the vehicle height is minimally increased. The one-piece bracket is made entirely of stainless steel, glass bead blasted and powder coated. It has four mounting eyes for individual headlights or the feet of one or two LED bars. It also has an additional mounting eyelet in the centre (facing backwards) that can be used for a GPS or radio antenna. The support tube has openings so that the headlamp connection cables (not supplied) can be neatly routed inside it. Eyelets for attaching cable ties round off the well thought-out details. Upgrading the reverse lights on your car is always a good idea – better visibility for others and for yourself when you’re parking backwards, when maneuvering with and without trailer or driving off-road in the dark. Stronger reverse lights also greatly improve the performance of reverse cameras. For the New Defender, we are offering an extremely elegant solution that needs no external fittings and has the seamless appearance of standard equipment. Underneath the rear lights on both sides of L663, two recesses in the body are ideal for housing the additional reverse lights with their six white LEDs each. Mounting the LEDs in the recesses is easy. Two perfectly fitted brackets are attached inside the gaps with self-adhesive tape. Once the plinths are fitted the LEDs are simply screwed in. The wiring is plug & play and includes all the necessary connections to the existing reverse lights. Installation or de-installation (if necessary) are simple DIY projects because the rear light panels are only clipped in and can easily be removed. Since there are no drill holes or other alterations necessary, there are no permanent traces or damages on the vehicle’s exterior. The high-quality LEDs with their watertight housing and the tough polycarbonate lenses provide more safety for you. Increased brightness for long-distance and close-range illumination Especially when driving on country roads and unpaved paths, increased visibility can be an important safety factor. The LEDriving® Functional Series FX Gen 2 portfolio provides additional close-range and far-field illumination on dark roads. Even in poor visibility conditions or at dusk, the high-performance LEDs achieve a range of up to 635 metres and daylight conditions with a colour temperature of 6000 Kelvin. The auxiliary headlamps of the FX series impress with a special reflector design and not only provide a modern and appealing look, but also reduce glare for more visibility in road traffic. They can be used both as additional LED headlights and as powerful worklights. Both versions of the lights are fully ECE-compliant and therefore suitable for use in road traffic. In addition, OSRAM has developed a special mounting kit that is compatible with all auxiliary headlamps of the FX Gen 2 series for individual mounting. Versatile in use, they defy numerous environmental influences and are particularly light and at the same time robust and resistant thanks to high-quality materials such as the aluminium housing and the stable polycarbonate lens. Lights: which system is the right one?
Especially for motorists, good main beams and the resulting visibility is an important safety aspect. While standard halogen headlights have a maximum range of about 140 metres, Xenon and LED lamps can reach up to 240 metres. Those who skimp on the lighting of their vehicle not only has to accept inferior output and longevity, but also insufficient lighting of the road ahead. This might be in compliance with the legal requirements, but especially driving off the beaten has demands much more from a light system. Technology has dramatically advanced in the past years, and it's really time for an upgrade from traditional main beams to modern, durable lighting technology!
The classic one: halogen
While cost-efficient halogen lights are still widely used in vehicle lighting due to cost reduction, the light output is not sufficient for many drivers. The light as a typical yellow tone to it and an irregular, diffuse light pattern. In comparison to LED lights, halogen headlights seem outdated. They are also susceptible to shocks and vibration, which makes them less than perfect for off-road vehicles, often also equipped with a rough diesel engine.
The glaring one: Xenon
In contrast to this there are the brighter and more energy efficient Xenon lights. These gas-discharge lamps are produced to simulate natural daylight as closely as possible. The longevity of Xenon lights is about four times that of halogen lights. However, I high-tech electronic control unit is needed. Additionally, self-cleaning systems and automatic levelling units are compulsory for all vehicles equipped with Xenon lights. High maintenance costs and a higher susceptibility - especially in off-road use - mean that Xenon lights are an expensive alternative that has today largely been replaced by modern LED lights.
The efficient one: LED lights
Today they are not only fitted to indicators, daylight driving lights and rear lights, but also as main beam units. Modern LED lights offer high light output, a light spectrum close to daylight, space-saving size and highly efficient energy consumption as well as an abundance of design variants. Apart from a superior longevity compared to all other light systems, LED lights also offer the best vibration resistance by far. Even long drives on washboard roads can do no harm to these modern and durable lights.
LED lighting systems consist of one or more LED diodes which turn electrical current into light at very low heat emission. In a headlight an optical lens is placed in front of the LED which focusses the beam, lighting the road ahead very evenly and at an optimum.
LED lights for off-road vehicles as an energy-saving aftermarket replacement
Apart from all the above-mentioned advantages of LED lights, they also don't need the self-cleaning systems of the Xenon lights. Therefore, they can easily be installed even in older vehicles. An active beam levelling unit is also not necessary. All LED headlights sold by us are E-marked for legal use on public roads. Thus, there is nothing that prevents the simple and cost-effective replacement of your old headlights. In addition to main headlights we also supply optional spotlights, work lights - also in form of the popular lights bars - rear light and signal lights, as well as indicator lights for all well-established off-road vehicles.
