What are the advantages of the two-part doors compared to the original doors?

In addition to the significantly lower price for the series-style doors, it is primarily the design and construction. Instead of the push-button handles on the standard doors, there are recessed lever handles as on the rear. Due to their design, these handles are significantly more resistant to break-ins because they are fitted with a stronger latch mechanism. They also do not protrude, which can make all the difference when driving off-road or through narrow passages. The retro doors also save space in the interior, which will be appreciated by any tall driver who otherwise has to make do with seat rails and small steering wheels. The window section with sliding panes made of high-quality glass is completely removable, which is particularly attractive for soft-top owners. What's more, you never have to worry about the window lifting mechanism again.

No compromises are made in terms of quality and installation with these installation kits. The frames of the doors and window sections are hot-dip galvanised and the sheet metal corresponds to the factory specifications of the original parts. The two-piece retro doors fit all Defender models from 90 to 130 from 1983 to 2016 and are supplied with all the necessary fixings, handles, locks, strikers and seals. They are designed so that standard door functions such as alarm system contacts and automatic interior light switch-on continue to work. Two holes only need to be drilled in the door frame for the strikers, as these are located in a different position on the door frame due to the design. A drilling template is included.
