Studs (Ø 9mm) for winter tyres If you have already planned a holiday abroad and regularly travel through snow, forest, rain or cold areas, these tyre studs are the perfect travel companions. The studs can be fitted not only to tyres with existing stud holes, but also to other winter tyres. This is because the studs, thanks to their worm-shaped screw thread, can be easily attached and removed with the appropriate mounting tool and a standard cordless screwdriver, without leaving large visible tyre studs. You can decide for yourself how many spikes to put in the tyre and increase or decrease the number at any time afterwards if necessary. A spike can be conveniently removed from the anchorage and screwed back in later. Note: Tyre spikes are prohibited in Germany. Release valves for tyre pressure Tyre deflator valves allow for fast and easy lowing of tyre pressure to suit different terrains. These tyre deflators can be used for pressures from 0.5 bar. Price is for set of 4. Setting up the deflators is very easy. All you have to do is create the desired lower pressure in one tire and then adjust the deflators in pairs or all four, as needed. No tools required. The adjustable range is between 0.5 and 3.5 bar. Step by Step Guide: Create the desired lower target pressure (e.g. for off-roading) in a tire and check with pressure gauge. Set the deflator target pressure BEFORE applying it to deflate tires. Simply turn both the lock ring and the adjustment cap all the way down. Now the deflator is completely closed. Screw the deflator onto the valve stem of the tire with the lowered target pressure. Open up the deflator slowly by turning the adjustment cap upwards until you hear the air escaping. With the first hiss, turn the cap slightly back down until the airflow stops. Now you have set the deflator to the desired target pressure and you can turn the lock ring back up to fasten the adjustment cap. Make sure you don’t move the cap inadvertently. Tighten lock ring and cap against each other by hand. Repeat with other deflators in pairs or for all four, as needed. The deflators are ready for use now. Simply screw them onto the tire valves and wait until the air stops flowing. Deflating takes, depending on the settings, usually a few minutes.

There's an old offroad saying that goes something like this: you can get everything wrong on a 4x4, but if the tyres are right, you'll still make it through somehow. The other way round, not so much. The best suspension, the strongest winch, the fanciest roof tent: all pointless if the vehicle is sitting on four road tyres that give up at the first dirt track.
Offroad tyres are the foundation. Not in some figurative sense, but quite literally. What happens between rim and ground determines whether a 4x4 actually is one, or just looks the part.
All-Terrain, Mud-Terrain, Rugged Terrain: Which Offroad Tyre for Which Job?
The most honest question before buying tyres isn't "which is the best?" but "where do I actually drive most of the time?" And the most honest answer for most people is: mainly road, some off-road now and then, properly rough once a year.
All-terrain tyres exist for exactly this profile. The BF Goodrich KO2 has built a solid reputation over the years, and its successor the KO3 raises the bar with an improved rubber compound and so-called Mud Phobic Bars. Both are all-terrain tyres, both carry the 3PMSF symbol (snowflake on a three-peak mountain) and meet legal winter tyre requirements. Civilised on the road, with enough bite off-road for gravel, sand and light mud. An AT tyre is the compromise that isn't really a compromise, because it's spot on for 95 per cent of all situations.
Those who deliberately shift the balance towards off-road end up with the Radar Renegade R/T+. A rugged-terrain tyre, sitting somewhere between AT and mud-terrain. Chunkier tread, more bite in the mud, yet surprisingly well-mannered on tarmac. However: no snowflake symbol, so it's a summer-only tyre. In winter, it belongs in the garage, not on the axle.
What about proper mud-terrain tyres? They exist, but they're built for vehicles that see more mud than motorway. For the daily run between the office and the hardware store, they make about as much sense as crampons in a supermarket car park. In fact, even customers who regularly tackle heavy terrain almost exclusively run AT or RT tyres with us, because the overall package simply makes more sense. For those who still want or need an MT: we're happy to source, fit and advise.
Individual offroad tyres without rims are available for anyone who already has matching wheels and just needs fresh rubber.
Offroad Rims: Steel or Alloy, That Is the Question
Rims aren't just about looks, even if that's obviously the first thing you notice. Load rating, offset, centring and durability determine whether a rim is genuinely offroad-capable or just carries the label.
Steel rims like the ANR Classic, made exclusively for Nakatanenga, or the tried-and-tested Dotz Dakar are tough, affordable and, if it comes to it, can be straightened with a hammer. That sounds rough, but on long-distance trips through remote areas it's often reality. Alloy rims like the Twin Monotube Projekt AT or the Borbet LD weigh less and, well, simply look better. The Twin Monotube, with its replaceable kerb strike protection ring, also offers a genuine offroad function that goes well beyond mere appearance.

Complete Wheel Sets: Tyres and Rims as a Ready-Made Package
For those who'd rather skip sourcing tyres, rims, approval documents and wheel nuts separately: complete wheel sets are the answer. They arrive fully mounted and balanced to manufacturer specifications, with type approval and everything included. Available as summer complete wheel sets and winter complete wheel sets for New Defender, Ineos Grenadier, classic Defender, Discovery I, Range Rover Classic and Suzuki Jimny.
A note on Defender wheel balancing: Our complete wheels are bolt-centred balanced, using the wheel bolts rather than the hub. This requires a special adapter plate and know-how that very few garages or tyre shops can offer. For the Defender, this method delivers noticeably better results in terms of smooth running than hub-centred balancing, which on the Defender tends to be hit and miss.
Accessories: Wheel Spacers, Wheel Nuts and Everything Else

What's the difference between all-terrain and mud-terrain tyres? All-terrain tyres (AT) are the all-rounder: good on tarmac, solid off-road, roughly a 50/50 split. Most carry the snowflake symbol and are approved for year-round use. Mud-terrain tyres (MT) are designed for heavy off-road use, with aggressive tread and wide grooves that self-clean in mud. On tarmac they're noisy, wear faster and offer noticeably less grip in the wet. For 4x4s that also see daily use, a good AT tyre is almost always the smarter choice.
Can all-terrain tyres be used as all-season tyres? Yes, provided the tyre carries the snowflake symbol (3PMSF). Since 2024, the older M+S marking alone is no longer sufficient for winter road conditions. The BF Goodrich KO2, KO3 and Radar Renegade A/T-5 all carry the snowflake symbol and are approved for year-round use. Tyres with a POR marking such as the Radar Renegade R/T+ are summer tyres only.
Steel or alloy rims for off-road? Steel rims are cheaper, tougher and easier to repair if bent. Alloy rims are lighter and look better. Those who do a lot of serious off-roading, go on long trips and might need to straighten a rim in the desert should go for steel. Those who mostly drive on road with the occasional off-road detour will do just fine with a good alloy rim.
