Replacement gearbox - transfer case, overhauled LT230 for TD4/TD5 Stage1/Stage2 Winchester Gears Stage LT230 are improved versions of the standard Defender and Discovery transfer cases. Common sources of failure have been carefully analysed and effective solutions implemented.   Sleeved main housing The bore of the intermediate shaft, which is prone to wear and oil leaks, is machined and fitted with a steel sleeve. In addition, the frequently damaged bearing bore of the main shaft was taken care of by fitting a cylindrical sleeve.   Intermediate shaft The intermediate shafts that hold the gear in place often wear out, leading to gear noise and, in later 1.21 gear sets, total gear failure. the high performance shafts fitted are made from 17.4ph material to ensure a long service life.   High capacity oil pan Available as an optional extra, this oil pan increases oil capacity by 0.6 litres and helps keep the transfer case cool and well lubricated.   Centre differential   Stage 1 : Features a heavy-duty one-piece cross shaft that replaces the weaker two-piece design, a common weak point. Stage 2 : Incorporates an Ashcroft ATB Limited Slip Diff, a spiral design that optimises torque and drive distribution between the front and rear axles. This provides improved traction and eliminates the weakness of the standard unlocked centre differential, ideal for racing on low traction surfaces.   For this item, we charge an additional deposit of 400.00 euros for your current transfer case. If you send us your old transfer case, we will refund you the amount of 400.00 euros. However, this is subject to the condition that the housing is in good condition and the gearbox can still be overhauled.

Overhauled manual gearbox R380 for Defender TD5 and MT82 for Defender TD4   The R380 manual gearbox, which was installed in 4 revisions from 1998 to 2006 in the 300Tdi and Td5, among others, owes its name to the 380Nm input force for which the gearbox was originally designed. After initial teething troubles in conjunction with the LT230T transfer case and corresponding improvements, the reliable R380 was only replaced when European environmental regulations made it necessary to switch to the Td4 engine with its six-speed gearbox. We offer top-quality reconditioned R380 / MT82 replacement gearboxes for Td5 and Td4. For this item, we charge an additional deposit of 400.00 euros for your current manual gearbox. The deposit will be refunded if you send the old gearbox to us and it is in good enough condition to be overhauled.   If you send us your old gearbox, we will refund you the amount of 400.00 euros. However, this is subject to the condition that the housing is in good condition and the gearbox can still be overhauled. For TD4 built in 2007-2016 Information about the clutch automat with friction disc, release bearing and clutch slave cylinderEspecially with switching operations under higher load, such in trailer operation or in performance-enhanced vehicles, enormous forces must be transmitted by the clutch. A common problem with the Defender's original clutch is the failure of the insufficiently sized torsion springs. The torsion springs, specially adapted to the Defender Td4, eliminate the familiar problems of clattering or jamming clutches. Another, but less common, problem is the ingress of oil from the engine or transmission into the clutch bell. This oil is absorbed by the porous friction linings and occurs during driving by the resulting frictional heat repeatedly to the friction lining. Due to the reduced traction it comes in the episode to a higher heat development and vitrification of the coverings. The heat is a measure of the converted energy that is no longer available to the drive! The organic coating used in this coupling can not absorb oil and therefore does not vitrify. It convinces with specially adapted friction modifiers with a soft response and enables a 100% adhesion. Of course, the pads are asbestos- and lead-free, free of other toxic heavy metals and heavy metal compounds. Information on the reinforced intermediate shaft for MT82 transmissions.Improved intermediate shaft for MT82 transmission in Land Rover Defender TD4 / TDCi / Puma 2.4 / 2.2 Known problem: The intermediate shaft of the TD4 / TDCi / Puma 2.4 / 2.2 models is not greased and is not supplied with oil. The connection of the two-piece intermediate shaft wears after prolonged use, since the shaft with outer ring gear has direct contact with the shaft with inner ring gear. In the worst case, this wear ensures that the sprocket shears off and the vehicle thus stops. A regular lubrication of the sprocket helps, but is in the long run very cumbersome Our solution: The improved intermediate shaft is supplied with the oil of the gearbox and thus prevents the wear of the shafts. Easy and uncomplicated! We recommend replacing the pilot bearing when replacing the coupling. Please note:  Before installing the clutch, the dimension of the following step must be measured on the flywheelIf the dimension is 25.4 mm, the clutch can be installed.If the measurement is 22.2 mm, a Ford flywheel is installed. The clutch is not compatible with this and will malfunction sooner or later.If a Ford flywheel with a measurement of 22.2 mm is installed, you will also need the following Land Rover flywheel.

It is not suitable for the Land Rover Discovery!The all-aluminium construction not only keeps the weight of the intercooler low compared to other high-performance radiators, it also guarantees optimised heat dissipation. Due to the increased volume compared to the original intercooler, the cooling system now has much more reserves for driving at high temperatures, extremely low speeds, calling up full power or high trailer loads.The flow-optimised design of the radiator as well as its particularly good heat-dissipating coating also contribute to the excellent cooling performance - especially in connection with performance-enhanced engines, this is of essential importance.The cooling net has been specially optimised for off-road use - it is particularly robustly manufactured so that damage from small stones or branches is more than unlikely. It is made of extruded aluminium with soldered fins. THE ALL NEW EXTREMEspec MT82 output shaft kit from LOF On Defenders with 2.4 and 2.2 Tdci Puma engines, it is a very common fault that the coupling shaft between the MT82 gearbox and the Lt230 transfer box wears out and fails! This is due to the shaft’s original two-part design with a dry splined coupling. Without grease, the grinding of metal on metal wears down the spines and eventually you’ll notice first a clunking noise and ultimately a total loss of drive. Solutions with specially greased OEM parts were unable to fix the problem, so the specialists at LOF have come up with a solid one-piece design for the coupling shaft to replace the splined coupling. For more stability and smooth running Improved intermediate shaft for the MT82 gearbox in the Land Rover Defender TD4 / TDCi / Puma 2.4 / 2.2 Known problem: The intermediate shaft on the TD4 / TDCi / Puma 2.4 / 2.2 models is not greased and is not supplied with oil. The connection of the two-part intermediate shaft wears out after prolonged use, since the shaft with the outer gear rim is in direct contact with the shaft with the inner gear rim. In the worst case, this wear causes the ring gear to shear off and the vehicle to stop. Regular greasing of the ring gear helps, but is very cumbersome in the long run. Our solution: The improved intermediate shaft supplies itself with the oil of the gearbox and thus prevents the shafts from wearing out. Easy and uncomplicated!
