Parking heater set for the VW T5 consists of all important components required for the installation of a parking heater. This means that the heater automatically reduces the injection quantity according to the ambient air pressure. This reduces or prevents sooting of the combustion chamber when the air oxygen content drops. The maximum heat output decreases proportionally to the amount of oxygen in the air. Roughly speaking, from 2,000 metres the loss of output per 500 m altitude is approx. 5%. Manufacturer tests up to 3,440 m were trouble-free. Up to 4,000 m no difficulties are to be expected. Up to 5,000 m the software calculates itself - but this could not yet be tested at real altitude. Important:Especially when used at high altitude, the free travel of the fan is extremely important!Route the combustion air intake and exhaust extremely short and with low resistance - i.e. no kinks, no blockage or reduction. It should also be noted that operation beyond 3,000 m is still a technical compromise. Again, care should be taken to ensure that the combustion chamber is properly heated on a regular basis. The chamber must be burnt free of soot deposits. Soot deposits can also form on heaters that are permanently run at the lowest setting. Therefore, the following still applies: No guarantee for sooty combustion chambers! In order to ensure the longevity of the heater, you should also free-burn it occasionally at low levels. The combustion chamber reaches full temperature after running at full load for about half an hour. Normally, no further maintenance is required. In case of extreme loads, e.g. during longer overnight stays at more than 4,000 m, the combustion chamber including the seal set should be cleaned if necessary. Planar 2D Auxiliary Vehicle Heater We offer the Planar 2D auxiliary vehicle heater as a well-priced, powerful alternative to our Webasto auxiliary vehicle heater kits. With their compact size and a heater output of 1.8 kW, the Planar 2D is well-suited for fitting to smaller vehicles, vans, off-roaders, camper vans, boats or in confined spaces. It is ideal for 'typical' off-road vehicles like the Land Rover Defender, Mercedes G oder Jeep Wrangler JK. The extensive fitting kit that is supplied with each heater make fitting easy. The Planar 2D can be easily controlled via its analogous control unit, with 8 settings available from 0,8 - 1,8 kW heat output. Available as both, 12 volts or 24 volts, this heater is European market approved (ECE label) and can thus be fitted independet of TUV approval. The parking heater has approval for the European market (ECE test mark) and can therefore be installed without registration. The temperature sensor / probe enables a more accurate measurement of the temperature. This temperature sensor can be mounted as a third sensor (in addition to the two temperature sensors built into the heating and control panel); for example, in the living or sleeping area. VW T5/T6 heater bracket for AUTOTERM 2D parking heater
This holder enables easy installation of the AUTOTERM (= Planar 2D parking heater) under the VW T5/T6. The mounting location corresponds to the factory-fitted air heater (passenger side between sill and longitudinal member). The holder is made of stainless steel and offers individually bendable mounting lugs for intake and exhaust silencers or similar. Only rivet nuts are required for installation, as there may not be any holes with threads in the carrier ex works.
Optional: On the 4th and 5th photo you can see that the bracket can be combined with the stainless steel installation box (marked with blue lines) for the AUTOTERM 2D parking heater. The dimensions of the holder are adjusted in such a way that there is no collision with the car body. Attention: This still does not turn a parking heater into an underwater heater!
