VIAIR 89P-RVS – Portable 12V Compressor for 4x4, Off-Road & Motorhomes The VIAIR 89P-RVS is a powerful portable 12V compressor for demanding mobile use. With a maximum working pressure of 120 PSI / 8.2 bar, high air flow and a long 6 m air hose, it is particularly suitable for larger 4x4 vehicles, SUVs, campervans and motorhomes with large or high-pressure tyre combinations. Its strengths become especially apparent during off-road use. Reducing tyre pressure for improved traction and comfort on sand, gravel or rough terrain is common practice – but the tyres then need to be brought back to road pressure before continuing on paved roads. The 89P-RVS provides a compact and reliable solution for repeated airing down and airing up without depending on a petrol station or workshop compressor. The compressor is suitable for tyre sizes up to 245/70 R19.5 and can therefore also handle the higher tyre pressures typically found on heavier vehicles. Most Class B motorhome tyres, for example, can be inflated from 80 to 90 PSI / 5.5 to 6.2 bar in less than two minutes. Power is supplied directly from the vehicle battery via the supplied battery clamps. Combined with the 6 m air hose, this allows convenient access to front and rear tyres even on larger vehicles. The VIAIR 89P-RVS is designed for applications where tyre pressure needs to be adjusted reliably and repeatedly while travelling. This is particularly relevant for off-road driving: lowering tyre pressure can increase the tyre footprint and improve traction and ride comfort on loose or uneven surfaces. Before returning to normal road use, the tyres must be inflated to the pressure specified for the vehicle. A portable compressor such as the 89P-RVS makes this possible independently of external compressed-air supplies. The combination of compact dimensions, direct battery connection, high working pressure and a 6 m hose makes the compressor particularly practical for 4x4 touring, overlanding, campervans and motorhomes. Note on off-road use: When operating the compressor in dusty or sandy environments, it should be positioned away from loose dust and dirt whenever possible. Operation directly on sandy or dusty ground should be avoided. An elevated and preferably protected position, for example inside the vehicle or on the load area, helps to minimise the intake of fine particles. For particularly intensive continuous operation, very large tyre volumes or extreme off-road applications, a larger VIAIR compressor may be the more suitable choice. VIAIR tyre inflator gun with integrated bleed valve Reads pressure up to 200 PSI and 14 BAR. This useful tool has a normally closed air chuck that can be opened by pressing the lever on the tyre inflator gun.
