Remote switch - Carlingtech Contura For safety reasons, it is advisable to switch off the electric winch on the off-roader and only switch it on when needed. This is usually done with a disconnect switch in the engine compartment, so that awkward handling is necessary when you want to start the winch. With the switching relay and the switch supplied, this can be done conveniently from the driver's seat without having to lay the winch's power cables there. Only two thin wires are needed, the required switch is included in the delivery, the switching relay is mounted in the engine compartment. It has an additional switch directly on the relay housing and does not consume any power when it is not being switched. A recessed labelling field allows easy identification of the relay. The switch is a very high quality Carlingtech Contura switch (waterproof to IP67 standard), this fits seamlessly into our mounting frames or various consoles such as in the Land Rover Defender TD4 or other vehicles. The relay is designed for a continuous load of 500 A, please check if this is suitable for your winch. Nakatanenga cable set winch mounting in Defender In order to facilitate the installation of the winch in the Defender and to minimise sources of error, we have a complete cable set for this purpose mass-produced by a cable harness manufacturer. The cable lengths are adapted to the installation situation in the Land Rover Defender 90/110/130. Due to the cable cross-section of 50 mm², even high currents can be transmitted safely, so that enough current reaches the cable winch and is not converted into heat in the cable. Delivery includes tubular cable lug M10 and battery pole clamp minus M10, for mounting on the vehicle's wiring.

For customers who need a winch on their Land Rover Defender but do not want the classic, martial look of a "normal" winch bumper we've developed the Hidden Winch Mount Kit. It is suitable for all Land Rover Defender 90/110/130 and allows an well hidden mounting of many common winches while maintaining a very "civil" look. In addition to the discreet appearance, the Nakatanenga Hidden Winch Mount Kit has many other product advantages:
- Improved slope angle of the vehicle by raised corners of the bumper
- Improved protection of the vehicle front by stable construction
- Protection of the rope against UV rays (important for plastic ropes!), rain and dust
- Improved theft protection due to hidden mounting location
- Suitable for vehicles with or without air conditioning (depending on the vehicle cutouts may be required on the grille)
- The freewheel of most winches is still accessible (you don't need a winch with an externally controllable freewheel)
