Universal storage space set for the spare wheel The high school of storage space optimization really only begins when all the obvious places like the interior or trunk or the roof have long since ceased to offer anything. With our practical and universally applicable spare wheel tray, even the fifth wheel on the car becomes an equipment carrier. The practical storage solution for the spare wheel at the rear consists of two components that can be ordered individually (here in the store) or as a set. The base carrier with the tensioning strap is adjustable and thus fits all common off-road tire sizes. If one mounts only the basic carrier (sideways), so e.g. starting aids, wheel chocks and other accessories can be screwed to the carrier or attached with straps. If you want to mount the tray, i.e. the basket, the base carrier must be on top of the wheel. The loading area of the storage basket is a generous 80cm x 38cm, so that even larger equipment can find its place here. If this area is not enough, you can also turn the platform around and attach with the edge down. Raised edges and circumferential lashing holes ensure problem-free load security. Base carrier and storage basket are black powder-coated, so that the look of the spare wheel tray harmonizes perfectly with any off-roader. Base carrier: approx. Pay attention to the condition of your door hinges when loading the platform! It is extremely important to secure the strap as tightly as possible in a locked position so you do not lose your equipment. Self-adhesive anti-slip pads Perforated metal sheets, as used on our CargoBear roof racks, on ladders, steps and other climbing aids on vehicles, are much safer than regular metal surfaces. Additional anti-slip pads, however, offer an unbeatable safety advantage, especially in wet or dirty conditions. The anti-slip pads are designed to perfectly match the hole patterns and due to its black color, they also compliment the overall look of our products. The material for the pads originates in the sports sector and has been widely used on skateboards, for example. For our spare-wheel strap-on step, we offer ready-cut, self-adhesive anti-slip pads measuring 12 x 13.5 cm in twin packs. Since the pads are manufactured with in-house laser cutting technology, we can supply custom formats on request.  

Nakatanenga CargoBear 2.0 – Lightweight Roof Rack for Land Rover Defender 90, 110 & 130 When it comes to sheer performance, our CargoBear has always been the Grizzly among roof racks. Strong, sturdy and extremely versatile, it was already well ahead of its time when we introduced it in 2016. But the world keeps turning, evolution never stands still – and anything that wants to survive in nature has to keep evolving. Leaner and meaner, as boxers say, the new bear – the CargoBear 2.0 – emerges from its den in Berg. Same load capacity, same strength, same rigidity, but with a significantly reduced fighting weight. Around 30 % less weight on the scales also means around 30 % less weight on the vehicle roof. And on top of that, the new CargoBear is considerably less expensive! How did we do it? The crucial difference lies in the new construction. Instead of the heavy longitudinal beams, newly developed perforated HIGRIP plate modules and edge plates now provide the longitudinal bracing, achieving the same structural values with a considerable reduction in weight. One point is especially important to us: the CargoBear 2.0 is manufactured entirely by Nakatanenga in Germany. All production and finishing steps take place either in-house or with specialised companies from our region. It is elaborate and certainly not the cheapest way to build a roof rack – but for us it is the right one: short distances, direct communication and the highest standards for materials, workmanship and quality. Made in Germany – not just as a sticker, but from the first component to the finished roof rack. The CargoBear 2.0 has been designed for a load capacity of 300 kg off-road (with an evenly distributed load). On the road, this value could theoretically be doubled. However, two points that apply to roof racks in general must always be kept in mind: First, a loaded roof rack can significantly raise the vehicle’s centre of gravity, which is especially important off-road. Second, the decisive limit when loading the roof rack is the vehicle manufacturer’s permitted roof load, which in most cases is significantly lower than the load capacity of the rack itself. Some things remain unchanged on the new bear: the jet-black, super-flat look, the high-performance material and the modular versatility. All accessories, add-on components, roof tents etc. are fully compatible with the first generation. And last but not least, the previous, heavier CargoBear with longitudinal beams and chequer plate continues to be available exclusively for classic Defenders requiring specific heavy-duty applications. Matching accessories are available in our shop, including the end crossbar, the wind deflector and the angled wind deflector – perfectly matched for even greater functionality and comfort. PLEASE NOTE: When using a snorkel, the wind deflector may need to be adjusted. On Defenders with a pop-up / lifting roof, the original vehicle roof is often shortened. In this case, the roof rack may not fit. Please measure beforehand or contact us in advance if there are any questions. Replacement rubber pad for the rear or side step of the Defender This cover protects your step so that you can enjoy it for a long time.  The tread protector has a tire tread pattern and is suitable for either the rear or side step (please select under “Variant”). Easy access: rear ladder with step for Land Rover Defender The rear ladder is suitable for the Land Rover Defender 90/110 and enables easy access to the roof rack.   The ladder and step are made of high-quality aluminum. The choice of material results in an extremely low weight of only 1.2 kg (ladder) and 0.4 kg (aluminum step). The ladder is welded using the TIG process. The steps are particularly non-slip. The ladder and the aluminum step are made of black powder-coated aluminum.

In contrast to a long ladder, this solution does not cover the number plate.The mounting is very easy, the necessary mounting material is included.
