Every vehicle's battery should be protected with a fuse about 30 cm from the battery itself. This way, in case of an accident the chance of a fire is reduced massively. Especially with heavy equipment in use, like a winch.

For this reason, we strongly recommend protecting the electrics of your 4x4 by installing a proper fuse. This fuse holder usually installed in boats is more than just up for the job. The mount itself is good for up to 750 A, while the two 500 A fuses are perfect for operating a winch. The holder purposely ships with two fuses to never leave you stranded should the first fail. The lugs receive cables up to 50 mm².
