With this active antenna splitter, you can use the vehicle's existing FM radio antenna for additional DAB / DAB+ reception. It is therefore ideal for retrofitting DAB receivers. There is no need for a time-consuming replacement or retrofitting of another antenna. The integrated amplifier compensates for the attenuation that usually occurs with antenna combiners and can even lead to better FM reception.
Some radios apply a voltage of 12 V to the antenna cable, the so-called phantom power, which supplies the antenna amplifier. In this case, it is called an active antenna. Common receivers cannot provide this 12 V to operate the amplifier - you need a phantom power adapter. In contrast to many other antenna combiners on the market, this active antenna combiner also takes care of this task. An additional phantom power supply adapter is therefore not necessary!
Please note that for the correct splitting of the signal, the frequency band of the active antenna must not be filtered. For this purpose, "DAB ANT POWER" must be set to "ON" in the setup of the radio (if available)!
