Additional side panels for Nakatanenga 270° degree awning stone grey, 1 pair The Nakatanenga Evolution 270° roof awning transforms any Defender, T5 & Co into a practical, flexible and, above all, quickly opened camp in an instant. On expedition, on holiday or just for an afternoon at the lake. The basic version of the roof awning comes with two side panels. If you want to turn the awning into an enclosed storage area that is protected on all sides, you can order the two additional side sections here.  Like the side walls already included with the awning, the two additional tarpaulins are made of high-quality, PU-coated RipStop polycotton, a blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. The functional fabric is extremely tear-resistant, water- and dirt-repellent and, due to its relatively high weight of 280 g/m2 , it also produces significantly less fluttering noise in the wind. It is aluminium-coated on the inside. This helps regulate heat and also ensures pleasant and effective use of existing light sources due to the diffusing reflection. The side tarpaulins are attached to the poles as required and can be lashed together. This means that when the awning is completely closed, there is hardly any surface for wind and weather to attack    

Sense and purpose of an awning compact extension? Glare protection when the sun is low in the skyThe compact extension was developed directly from practical requirements - a nice formulation that in itself means nothing more than: "We were so annoyed and dazzled by the low sun one fine day that we wanted to remedy the situation." And already the initial question is actually fully answered. But that would only be half the truth. On the following picture you can see an awning without extension shown above: As the sun sinks (the same applies in the morning, of course - but for the sake of clarity we will limit ourselves here to the afternoon or evening situation), the light falls further and further under the awning. At a certain position of the sun, the light/shadow dividing line reaches the eye level of a seated person - from now on, the sun can dazzle until it sets. The illustration below shows an awning with a compact extension, which offers several advantages with its angled bracing: When the sun is high, a much larger area is shaded.Only when the sun is setting, the light/shadow dividing line reaches the eye level of a seated person. Here, of course, deviations are possible, since both the slope of the guy, the size of the person and his sitting position are influencing factors.But the most important thing is: You can see what's going on in your surroundings despite the glare shield! If the eyes and the lower edge of the compact extension are on a horizontal plane, then the view would extend exactly to the (ideal) horizon. If you compare that with a moderately braced complete front part, where the view is just between a few centimetres to a few steps - what a difference! What if the sun comes in from the side?Well, then the vehicle will probably have to be moved. But not with our new compact extension. All you have to do is unhinge it from the front, and you can attach it to the side in just a few easy steps. Voilà!But please note: The awnings have a uniform depth of two meters, but differ in their widths. Ideally it hit here all those who have a 200er awning. Owners of a 250 have three options: They simply allow the extension to protrude when used from the side - utility over beauty.You opt for a 200 compact extension - this does not detract from the function.You buy two compact extensions at once - a 250 for the front and a 200 for the side. Front parts for our awnings series Evolution 2 ... are also suitable for the awnings of other manufacturers - the aluminum front profile must only be equipped with a free keder profile for this purpose or one must be retrofitted. Front parts fulfill - especially in combination with our awning side parts - various functions: They are an excellent windbreak - this is where the relatively heavy fabric (280g/m² PU-coated RipStop polycotton - our stone-grey sun sail and awning fabric) comes into play, which is characterized, among other things, by the significantly reduced fluttering noise.They are the ideal rain protection - for this purpose, our sun sail and awning fabric is metal-coated on one side (inside) and water- and dirt-repellent due to the impregnation of the other side (outside).They can be tensioned or also displayed by means of optionally available telescopic poles and thus increase the shaded area immensely. Because of the small and in itself not worth mentioning packing size, our awning front parts as well as our awning side parts belong to these small things with the enormous benefit. If the awning protects from the evening and night chill from above, these awning extensions again significantly increase the comfort. The inside metal coating - primarily the wetness barrier layer - naturally contributes its part to this, reflecting not only the light of a lamp that is probably present, but also to a certain extent emitted thermal radiation (this effect is minor, but quite noticeable). The Roof Lodge Evolution awning ... which can also be used on many roof tents from other manufacturers. The widespread term <awning> is somewhat misleading in itself, as it has always been more of a hanging tent in which you can quickly and easily store camping equipment such as a table and chairs, the little ones' toys and a pint of beer. This not only applies to tidying up in the evening, but also in the event of a downpour. What's more, the fact that these items are no longer immediately visible makes them a little safer from theft. We also like to refer to this awning simply as a <shower curtain>. This name also gives you an idea of the actual size of the hanging tents. This is always 120 cm in depth and 140 cm or 165 cm depending on the tent width. This makes them significantly larger than most showers, but still smaller than what many people imagine. However, if the roof tent is installed at a sufficient height, you have a space that can also be used comfortably for changing. These awnings were and are less suitable for use in bad weather. This results in a requirement profile for them that is completely different from that of the floor tents of the extended tents. As the awning's tent character is clearly in the background, we have given it some thought and completely redesigned it according to its use. They are now made from the same material that we already use for our LIGHTWEIGHT - T109 ripstop nylon with Oxford weave. This material is surprisingly strong for its surprisingly low weight of just 102 g/m² and is the obvious choice for use in an awning. As awnings, like ground tents, usually have to be transported in the vehicle, the pack size is not insignificant. The fact that the usual voluminous and heavy PVC groundsheet has been replaced by a thin and light tarpaulin means that the pack size of the awning can almost be described as tiny.   Due to the type of use, elaborate window constructions are as pointless as spikes for ballerinas - nobody uses them. Of course, windows do have a right to exist in hanging tents; after all, you can not only see outside through them, they also let light into the tent. But this is where the T109 ripstop nylon comes into play again: this material has good light permeability, which puts the question of windows to rest once and for all. The entrance is usually located behind the ladder, which literally stands in the way of quickly stowing away the equipment. That's why we decided not to have an entrance. Some people will now say that Nakatanenga have definitely overshot the mark. But we simply questioned the design of the usual entrances with the entrance fabric, mosquito net and zippers and found that they were not necessary. Our awning therefore doesn't have an ENTRANCE, but of course there is an ACCESS - in fact several. The awning is fitted with zippers at all 4 corners. These can be used to separate the side walls from each other and thus not only determine the access as desired. You can also roll up one or all of the side walls. In the evening, for example, all you need to do is place the table and chairs on the tarpaulin, unroll the side walls and close the zippers. And the awning also offers real added value: the side tent walls also have two eyelets on the underside. The side walls can either be tensioned at an angle or extended using optional telescopic poles. This creates a rain-protected or shaded area of just under 5.5 by 1.2 meters. The awnings are suitable for all roof tents of the appropriate size that use the edge profiles shown on the Roof Lodge Evolution and LIGHTWEIGHT information pages. If you are not quite sure, please do not hesitate to contact us. It is not possible to use the awning and shoe bag at the same time. Note: The telescopic poles are NOT included in the scope of delivery.

The natural material variety is an Anglo-Bavarian combo. One side is stepped waxed cotton, as made popular by Barbour jackets, the other side is high quality natural Loden. The waxed cotton is extremely water repellant and dirt resistant. The Loden side is first and foremost warm and comfy. Due to its natural and gentle manufacturing process, the Loden still contains enough natural Lanolin from the sheep’s wool to give this material a certain degree of water resistance. Friends of natural materials will therefore not object to the subtle scent of Lanolin. This is part of Loden like wood smoke belongs to a campfire. Dutch Oven The Dutch Oven, often referred to simply as a pot (sic), is available here together with a sturdy tripod, a pot stand and, of course, a lid lifter. Although the pot itself is available in three sizes, we only offer it as a set in the two most popular sizes. Of course, the tripod, the lid lifter and the pot stand can also be used with the pound pot (coincidentally also the name of a very popular Dutch Oven dish - but here we mean our 12-quart pot). The pots are also particularly suitable for induction cookers, as well as for all other types (ceramic, open fire, etc.). Please select the desired size.A practical tip from Harry:Tried and tested for travelling: one of the two sets offered here! You can also attach one of these beautiful enamelled percolators to the tripod for making coffee. But be careful! Not all percolators are suitable for this type of coffee preparation! And... the handle can get devilishly hot! Our lid lifter doesn't really help here either. But if anyone knows of a practical way of using the Dutch oven lid lifter with a percolator, please let me knowWhere were we again? Exactly! With our DO sets... ideal for travelling, but probably a little undersized for a garden party. So in itself it's perfectly adequate for a garden party, but not for a G-A-R-T-E-N-P-A-R-T-Y!That's when you need our pound pot - and to supplement and round off the food base, you can always find a quick use for the smaller brother. And if you want to serve the much-quoted icing on the cake as a first aid against second hunger late at night: Take a piece of beef of your choice, it should be around 300-400 grams and nicely marbled, and it must be able to fit into the sizzle pan later (a flank steak is really tasty, but completely unsuitable for this), and put it in the oven set to around 55°C, but not immediately taken out of the fridge - preheating is superfluous, unless your G-A-R-T-E-N-P-A-R-T-Y is taking place in the Arctic Circle.There, in the oven, it can then remain for a long, really long time, but of course not until the end of time. So don't overdo it! And the following really does apply to this preparation: don't add salt! Garlic, thyme and/or rosemary add a familiar flavour, sage and coriander a less familiar but very interesting one. When your guests' appetite for a savoury or tasty treat reawakens, simply let the Sizzel Pan heat up in the embers and then place the meat inside. 45-60 seconds per side is usually sufficient and a knob of good butter should not be missing. Allow the meat to rest for a few more minutes, then cut into slices and serve,  then cut into slices and serve sprinkled with salt (flakes!) and freshly ground pepper. Make sure you try it: Lemon pepper!   Further information:  Our Dutch ovens can be used over an open fire, on the barbecue, on the hob and also in the kitchen oven. We have deliberately opted for pots without legs, as these can be stored in a more space-saving way and can also be used in the normal kitchen. The awning is up, seats and tables unfolded and even the roof tent is ready. That’s the moment when you realize how sweaty and sticky you are from a long day behind the wheel. A kingdom for a shower, in the middle of nowhere! No worries, we’ve been on the case and this is what we‘ve come up with: A mounted shower unit for overlanders, campers and adventurers. Nakatanenga shower tubes are attached to the side of a CargoBear or any other roof rack. You fill it with the amount of water you need, pressurize the tank with air to guarantee consistent water flow and off you go. During the day, the tube’s black PE material provides free solar off-grid heating for the water, no energy input required, no CO2 emissions. Isn’t that just great at the end of a tough day? The shower tubes come in three sizes – 1,240, 2,100 und 2,750 mm – respectively giving you volumes of 9.4, 17.5 and 23.7 l. We deliver the tubes with CargoBear mounting brackets, tap, handheld shower head and spiral hose pipe. You can attach your own accessories to the ½” connector, of course. The shower tubes is a really neat solution for all your muddy outdoor hobbies, too. How often have you wished you could just quickly hose down clothes, boots, sports equipment or pets before getting into the 4x4 or loading it up? We know. Since the tubes are not equipped with safety valves, we recommend using regular bicycle hand or foot pumps to pressurize them. Practical Nakatanenga grill plate With this grill plate you can enjoy a barbecue 2.0. The usual barbecue feeling with the bonus that you can prepare far more dishes from now on. In principle, every pan dish can be prepared - no matter where you are, in the mountains, in the desert or at the campsite. This is our popular Muurinpohjapannu with upgrade. Basically, Muurinpohjapannu always includes 3 bolt-on steel feet. The steel feet are suitable for cooking on an open fire. However, since you can not grill everywhere with wood and may this grill plate is supplied with 3 additional screw-on feet made of aluminum. With these feet, the plate can also be operated with a gas cooker. For this purpose, the delivery includes mounting clamps for the stove and a windscreen. The aluminum feet are adjustable in two different sizes. The "longer" feet are also a comfortable grilling while standing allows. With the aid of the three fixing clamp, the gas cooker can be fixed to the plate and the windbreak ensures that the gas flame is always well protected.
