Red Cross Patch
Our red cross patch for Velcro is perfect for labelling all bags, rolls or bags with first aid equipment. For outdoor activities, off-roading or camping, potentially vital equipment is often lost in the mess of constantly unpacking and packing away. In addition, the packing regime can also be so individual due to the task or due to space or weight savings that first aid items must be accommodated in unmarked containers. But so that companions or strangers can quickly and accurately identify the first aid kits in an emergency, whether in the trunk, in storage bags or backpacks, there are clear functional patches like our Red Cross as a solution. That is why our Nakatanenga first aid bags always have large fleece areas on the front to enable them to be attached in the optimal viewing area and thus guarantee clear and quick identification.
Our high-quality, woven patches are Made in EU.

Our gauze is made from 6 layers of extremely absorbent surgical fabric and comes folded and compressed inside robust, vacuum-sealed Aluminum bags. The packaging keeps your gauze sterile for many years (expiration date 5 years) and ensures optimal storage and transport capabilities. Dimensions:10 cm x 3,75 m

Tourniquet, ligation system When it comes to first aid after life-threatening accidents, the most important things to have are training, regular practice and quick access to proper first response equipment. This holds true for rescuing others as well as treating one’s own injuries if help is far away. Even with the most traumatic injuries, there is a great chance for survival if correct measures are taken immediately. The initial 5 minutes after the injury are crucial for first response, as is the so-called “golden hour” in which an injured person should then be delivered into professional medical care. In the 1990s, based on the requirement of special forces operations where paramedics are often not present and injured personnel has to be airlifted to receive medical care, the American military developed the TCCC Tactical Combat Casualty Care first response concept. TCCC enables everyone to administer first aid to heavily injured persons and give them the valuable time until professional medical help is available. TCCC is specifically designed to include one’s own injuries. An important item in any TCCC kit is a tourniquet, a high-pressure bandage to prevent fatal blood loss from extremities with arterial bleeding. In a civilian context, if your work or hobby carries a risk of severe injuries to your arms and legs, you should have a tourniquet in your first aid or trauma kit. This applies to accidents caused by machinery, timber or forestry work, hunting, motorsports, expeditions and many other activities. The tourniquet is non-sterile and can be applied with two hands to other people and single-handedly to your own injuries, ideally 2-4 inches above the wound. The tourniquet consists of a super-strong band and solid buckles to hold it firmly in place before pressure is applied. While other products often feature plastic windlass rods, this one is made from aluminum for extra strength and stability when tightening the device. The exact time of setting can be noted on the cuff for further care. If you want to put a trauma kit together, you should also consider an Israeli bandage to control heavily bleeding injuries and a vented chest seal to apply to penetrating, open chest wounds. CAUTION: In order to execute first aid procedures effectively and safely, the techniques for applying emergency dressings or bandages like a TCCC tourniquet should be practiced regularly – ideally in connection with first aid courses.

The Nakatanenga backpack When product design becomes a matter of survival, as in military equipment, the principle of reduction applies to the maximum. The superfluous or useless is mercilessly sorted out and each part is charged with as many functions as possible. Therefore, it is never wrong to take tactical equipment as a model to make everyday products better. This is what we did with our new backpack and created an all-rounder, which is due to its practical properties as a Bug Out / Survival Bag as well as a daypack for school, university or work. Ergonomically, we paid attention to wearing comfort. Depending on the package, four adjustable straps ensure stability and comfort. Removable chest and waist straps reduce weight on the shoulders for greater stability when running, climbing or cycling. The mesh padding on the back is especially pleasant on longer tours. Due to the better ventilation, it reduces the sweat through the clothes. A variety of compartments and pockets with a total volume of about 17l provides maximum flexibility when stowing equipment or everyday objects. For long backpacking tours even a hydration can be used. The drinking tube can be passed through a specially designed opening on the handle. Straps on the straps and LaserCut MOLLE on the front and sides make it possible to individually attach additional packs and utensils such as our bottle holder. In design and execution, two things were important to us. On the one hand, the quality of materials and workmanship typical of Nakatanenga. A highlight here are YKK's inside-out zippers, which keep dust and water out. On the other hand, we also wanted to implement the tactical "Gray Man" principle with this backpack. The chic but simple unisex design with the gray main color attracts no unwanted attention. Whether in the safety-related job or on uncomfortable corners on holiday, with this backpack you disappear very easily and unrecognized in the gray, anonymous crowd. "Gray Man", an effective form of self-protection. In contrast to PVC, nylon PU (polyurethane) is free from harmful phthalate-based plasticisers. Until recently, low-molecular phthalates were the most common plasticisers for plastics of all kinds and are even used in food and cosmetics. However, they accumulate in the environment and are suspected of acting like endogenous hormones due to their molecular nature. This is highly questionable from a toxicological point of view and is considered a trigger for various diseases, including cancer. For Nakatanenga, it is therefore a matter of course to use only ecologically and health-friendly alternatives such as nylon PU when coating textile products. Our large first aid bag (with or without contents) is still available here. The bag shown is not included in the scope of delivery.
