Side panel for Nakatanenga Evolution2 Awning Roof-mounted car awnings like our EVO II are a great pieces of equipment if you want to turn your 4x4 or van into a quickly set up mobile camp. But proper protection from wind, weather, sun and unwanted attention comes only with the addition of side walls. Conditions vary from location to location and even throughout a single day: the sun is moving from east to west and the wind is changing directions, too. By the sea, it becomes a lot stronger in the evenings and carries dust, sand and the occasional shower. But aside from weather protection, the side tarps also create valuable privacy in crowded camp grounds and other popular locations. Our side walls come in pairs and are the best solution for all these challenges. Simply stick the velcro fasteners to the roof awning’s frame and fasten the tarps to the ground using the four included tent pegs. All of that is simply a question of minutes and if the wind, the sun or a new location demand a change in position you can easily swap the sidewalls to accommodate the situation. The two side wall tarps are made from high quality PU-coated RipStop polycotton, a blended fabric containing 65% polyester and 35% cotton. This highly functional material is extremely resistant to tearing, it is water and dirt repellent and due to its high specific weight of 280 g/ m2 the material will make less noise in the wind. The tarp’s inner side features a layer of aluminum to assist in regulating temperature and to diffuse and amplify low intensity light sources like candles, camping lanterns etc. Color:Stone gray. Dimensions:Width 2 m, height 1.95 m Scope of delivery: 2 x side wall tarp4 x tent pegs Material:PU-coated RipStop polycotto

Nakatanenga CargoBear accessory holder for maximum traction Maximum Traction Boards are an extremely lightweight plastic alternative to conventional aluminum sandboards, a must-have for all serious off-roaders and expedition enthusiasts. If you have at least two CargoBear crossbars - or the entire roof rack - on the classic Defender (up to MY2016) or Mercedes G-Class, you can now install a robust and quickly accessible mount for the traction boards with little effort. The mount consists of a bracket set with two of our tried-and-tested CargoBear awning brackets (stainless steel) and special aluminium mounting plates for the traction boards. The awning brackets are simply screwed to the crossbars’ angled sides. All brackets are powder-coated in black. Screws and fastening material (stainless steel) - also for the traction board - are included.

Nakatanenga CargoBear - Awning holder for New Defender One of the best moments when car camping or at 4x4 meetings is unfolding the roof awning. It means you've arrived and the cozy part is about to begin. Once the awning is up, you can lounge in your camping chair, put your feet up and plan your next activities over a coffee or a cool drink. And since the CargoBear is also available for the New Defender, there is also the option of attaching numerous awnings and awnings. Our awning holders made of black powder-coated stainless steel are screwed onto the slope of at least two crossbars and are suitable for awnings such as the RoofLodge Awning, RhinoRack Foxwing and SunSeeker. The 3-piece set is supplied including the necessary mounting material for attaching the awning holder to the CargoBear roof rack. Fastening material for the awning is not included.

Nakatanenga CargoBear 2.0 | Lightweight. Strong. Clever for Mercedes G When it comes to powerful performance, our very own CargoBear is definitely the Grizzly among roof racks. Strong, sturdy and massively versatile, it was way ahead of its time when we introduced it in 2016. But the world is turning, evolution doesn’t favor a standstill and if you want to survive in nature, you need to keep innovating. Leaner and meaner is this new bear, the CargoBear 2.0, when he emerges from his winter den in Berg. Same load bearing strength, same solidity, same rigidity, but greatly reduced fight weight: Your 4x4 has to carry around 30 % less weight on the roof. And on top of it, the new CargoBear comes with a reduced price tag as well. How did we do it? The crucial difference lies in a new construction design. Removing the comparatively heavy longitudinal connecting beams, their structural function has been taken over by newly developed perforated HIGRIP plates between the crossbars and angled end-plates for the sides. The new design achieves (nearly) the same structural strength as its predecessor but reduces the net weight considerably. The CargoBear 2.0 has been designed for a load capacity of 300 kg off-road (with evenly distributed load). This can easily be doubled on the road. Theoretically, that is, because it’s important to make two points when it comes to roof racks. One, keep in mind that your vehicle’s center of gravity can shift upwards considerably when carrying a roof rack with cargo, especially off-road. And two, when loading your roof rack, the limitations will most likely result from your vehicles approved roof load which in most cases will be significantly below the specifications of the rack itself. Some of the CargoBear 2.0’s features stay the same, however, because we found them hard to improve: this includes the jet-black, super-flat look, the high-performance material and the modular versatility. Furthermore, all accessories, additional components, roof tents etc. are fully compatible with the first generation. The long G-Class will finally get a CargoBear with four crossbars. And last but not least, the old heavier CargoBear with longitudinal beams and checker plate will be continued exclusively for classic Defenders who need specific heavy-duty applications. The CargoBear does NOT fit the Mercedes G model W465 from model year 2024! Measured from the gutter, the CargoBear is approx. 20cm high. On the roof it is approx. 5-6 cm - depending on the roof, condition, year of construction etc.

Nakatanenga CargoBear 2.0 – Lightweight Roof Rack for Land Rover Defender 90, 110 & 130 When it comes to sheer performance, our CargoBear has always been the Grizzly among roof racks. Strong, sturdy and extremely versatile, it was already well ahead of its time when we introduced it in 2016. But the world keeps turning, evolution never stands still – and anything that wants to survive in nature has to keep evolving. Leaner and meaner, as boxers say, the new bear – the CargoBear 2.0 – emerges from its den in Berg. Same load capacity, same strength, same rigidity, but with a significantly reduced fighting weight. Around 30 % less weight on the scales also means around 30 % less weight on the vehicle roof. And on top of that, the new CargoBear is considerably less expensive! How did we do it? The crucial difference lies in the new construction. Instead of the heavy longitudinal beams, newly developed perforated HIGRIP plate modules and edge plates now provide the longitudinal bracing, achieving the same structural values with a considerable reduction in weight. One point is especially important to us: the CargoBear 2.0 is manufactured entirely by Nakatanenga in Germany. All production and finishing steps take place either in-house or with specialised companies from our region. It is elaborate and certainly not the cheapest way to build a roof rack – but for us it is the right one: short distances, direct communication and the highest standards for materials, workmanship and quality. Made in Germany – not just as a sticker, but from the first component to the finished roof rack. The CargoBear 2.0 has been designed for a load capacity of 300 kg off-road (with an evenly distributed load). On the road, this value could theoretically be doubled. However, two points that apply to roof racks in general must always be kept in mind: First, a loaded roof rack can significantly raise the vehicle’s centre of gravity, which is especially important off-road. Second, the decisive limit when loading the roof rack is the vehicle manufacturer’s permitted roof load, which in most cases is significantly lower than the load capacity of the rack itself. Some things remain unchanged on the new bear: the jet-black, super-flat look, the high-performance material and the modular versatility. All accessories, add-on components, roof tents etc. are fully compatible with the first generation. And last but not least, the previous, heavier CargoBear with longitudinal beams and chequer plate continues to be available exclusively for classic Defenders requiring specific heavy-duty applications. Matching accessories are available in our shop, including the end crossbar, the wind deflector and the angled wind deflector – perfectly matched for even greater functionality and comfort. PLEASE NOTE: When using a snorkel, the wind deflector may need to be adjusted. On Defenders with a pop-up / lifting roof, the original vehicle roof is often shortened. In this case, the roof rack may not fit. Please measure beforehand or contact us in advance if there are any questions. The CargoBear can be used on an Alu-Cab pop-up roof. Nakatanenga CargoBear system roof rack incl wind deflector and end carrier - for Suzuki Jimny 2, type GJ / HJ Pack a bear on your roof, the CargoBear! Or, in this case, our new bear cub. The modular roof rack system that has revolutionized the attic conversions on top of Defenders and G-Wagons is now also available for the Jimny II GJ / HJ. The small workhorse from Suzuki is a big performer but has one major disadvantage: the Jimny – due to conceptual constraints – suffers from massive lack of space on the inside. Farmers, foresters and other friends of the 4x4 quickly reach the limits of the Mini-Defender when storing tools and equipment. With the CargoBear for the petite Japanese, there is now a modular and highly flexible roof rack to individually adapt to your needs. The CargoBear’s flat roof silhouette reduces aerodynamic losses and the modular design protects the car’s roof and body by effectively absorbing torsion forces. The deep black, high-quality powder-coated CargoBear modules made of aluminum-magnesium alloy are manufactured entirely in Germany. The bear’s skeleton is made up of either two or three crossbeams. The beams also work by themselves as roof racks. Two panels fit each segment between a pair of crossbars, creating either a short or a full platform over the entire length of the roof. An accompanying wind deflector at the front further improves the aerodynamics of the roof rack, which is already very flat, and offers the possibility of mounting the Osram SX180 or SX300 light bars via special holes. For the rear, an end carrier is included for mounting additional headlights, handles or other accessories. The modular structure over the entire area allows for a flexible yet precise arrangement of lashing points, thereby making your roof load much more secure. Fittings are inserted in the lashing grid on the side or on top of the rack. Single stud fittings are recommended for lighter loads. If it gets heavier, choose ring fittings with double studs. As the name implies, two studs instead of one are inserted into the lashing grid, effectively halving the forces exerted on each point in the grid. The CargoBear’s panels feature a perforated non-slip design, contributing further to your load safety. The modules are supplied with all the necessary fastening material. Wind deflector and end carrier are included in the scope of delivery. Measured from the gutter, the CargoBear is approx. 15 cm high. On the roof it is approx. 5-6cm - depending on the roof, condition, year of construction etc.
