Our windscreen brackets made of billet alloy are a top-quality replacement for the rust-prone original brackets fitted to Land Rover Defender 90/110/130.
Sold as pairs, with gasket and fittings.
The holders are optionally available in anodised aluminium or black powder-coated aluminium.
Anodization is a simple but effective method to provide aluminum parts with a protective coating. In contrast to other procedures like galvanizing, painting or powder coating, the protective layer is not created by applying an additional material but by the part’s aluminum itself. Electrolytical oxidization of aluminum (hence the German term EL-OX-AL) creates porous surface structures that can be dyed by depositing color pigments in the pores. The process is finished by sealing the surface, effectively fixing the color pigments inside the anodized layer.
The downside of this process is that the pigment layer is generally thinner making the dye more vulnerable to outside influences during production and in everyday use. Environmental factors like UV light, household or automotive chemicals as well as wrong application when cleaning with abrasive products for example, can bleach black anodized coating. That’s why we’ve decided to go forward selling only the aluminum colored windshield brackets.
If you are aiming for a different look, you can paint them yourself or have them painted, use one of our RAPTOR products or order the parts here in the shop, where we offer professional powder coating for a small extra fee.
