The tent poles
The tent poles, the form-giving substructure of the roof tent, are made of 25mm aluminum pipe. Similarly built tents usually have to make do with a 22mm tube here, whereby with these then not only the diameter, but also the wall thickness is smaller.
The inner arches of the poles are connected to the stainless steel hinges of the floor assembly via metal joints. You often see joints made of plastic at this point in similar tents. However, depending on the plastic used, it is subject to aging and can become brittle and break.
Tents in the Evolution II model range have both curved inner and outer poles. The function of the outer poles is explained in detail in The Awning section. The curved shape of the poles and also the telescopic cross tube of the extended element exclude the formation of a dreaded "water bag" when used correctly.
