The Nakatanenga double battery system for the Land Rover Defender 90/110/130 offers high battery capacities, the most advanced AGM technology, simple and safe control and monitoring of the batteries, maximum current flow in winch applications and the security of being able to start the vehicle in any case, even if the cool box, the hi-fi system or the interior lighting have been running for too long.
The black passivated and galvanized battery tray is mounted under the driver's seat and houses two 80 Ah AGM batteries. They are vibration-resistant, cannot leak (e.g. if the vehicle rolls over) and are capable of deep discharge and high currents. They do not outgas and, even at the lowest temperatures, still deliver high currents, such as are required when starting the vehicle or difficult winch recovery. The locking mechanism of the seat box and any superstructures and attachments are not affected by the installation of the dual battery system.
The cut-off relay, which ensures the physical separation of the two batteries and enables them to be connected together, is mounted directly on this carrier. While driving, both batteries are charged, when the engine is switched off only the consumer battery is discharged, the starter battery remains fully charged and is available to start the vehicle at full capacity - important e.g. at low temperatures. Both batteries can be interconnected at the push of a button, so that particularly high currents can be called up - interesting e.g. for long winch operations. In HBC systems, the control unit of the relay, the battery monitor, is mounted on the dashboard - in the driver's field of vision, it enables easy monitoring and control of the battery system.
Of course, the price also includes all the necessary high-quality cables, small parts and assembly material. The heavy duty cable set consists of 35 mm² copper cables and is assembled with high quality cable lugs and battery terminals. The Cyrix battery isolating relay, on the other hand, is designed for the simplest operation and installation, which is why a particularly low price can be achieved. You can upgrade the Cyrix dual battery system at any time with a single HBC dual battery monitor - please note, however, that upgrading is more expensive than buying the HBC dual battery system (Cyrix incl.) From the start. The system can optionally be expanded, e.g. with a heavy-duty jump-start cable and an external power supply, e.g. for supplying camping sites with particularly long idle times. In order to simplify the construction of structured cabling and any troubleshooting, we recommend installing our fuse holder with power and ground distributor (correctly secured!) Under the passenger seat.
